Oh, for crying’ out loud.
I forgot this part:
And he says ... You start with the President of the United States saying to America......”
Yes Ladies and Gentlemen, it is all Bush’s fault!

“...that OTHER solutions are required (universal healthcare, yadiyadiya...)”
Any IDIOT knows that universal healthcare will solve all the inner-city crime. Every article always has in there “..and he was stealing so he could buy drugs...”

I didn’t think Song of the South was available at all, period.
Leave it to the lieburralls to take something as innocent as Uncle Remus and turn it into a bad thing.

Thanks for the link. I listened to the section and then listened a little longer. I think the offending part was facetious. He follows that by saying we need better schools (for blacks.) He says the legal system works against blacks. that is as far as I got.
I don’t agree with Edwards. But I don’t think the offending quote is a gotcha moment either.

That's probably his best way out if this does become much of an issue. Given the favorable response of the crowd, I really do think that is what he meant, all along, no matter how bad it was answered. I do think the biggest problem is not his remark "they're all gonna be in prison, or dead" but in fact all the ridiculous leftist pandering, hyperventilating, and non-solutions that followed.
ABSOLUTELY!

Edwards cleared that field behind his house for his fantasy of of landing there in Marine-1.

I doubt hed say something so transparently stupid.<<<
Evidently you don't remember his quote on gays: "I've always been uncomfortable around those people".
Had to send his wife out to straighten that out - "well, see, he's never known any, never had any contact with gays, we're from a rural area, so it was a natural statement to make since....yada yada yada.
Hilarious.

I was flipping through channels and I watched it on MTV, and when I heard him say that, I thought, “He is lucky he is not a Republican.”

And we will probably be the only ones talking about it. The media will ignore it.

Yes. His words brought nods.
It starts with the President of the United States saying the right things. President Bush is obviously not saying the right things, so there is no hope at the present time. President Edwards, on the other hand, will say the right things; heaven on earth will be imminent.

n that case, I wish somebody had Tivod Disneys Song of the South. I sure would like to see it again but Ive been told theres no chance in this politically correct world.Check eBay. Copies show up pretty regularly there - usually in PAL format, but sometimes in NTSC. Rare and expensive, though.
To: ChessExpert
He is saying it like a true defense lawyer though. Every African American male is a potential client. $$$$$

It’s John Edwards, not Bill Bennett. Democrats mean well and nothing they say means anything but sunshine and lollipops.
