According to my grandmother and her siblings, they filled a washtub out in the yard a couple times a week, and everyone washed. Free showers and hairwashing if they got a hard rain!

"Hi, General! Id stop to chat, but I have to make a poster and take it to church." The last poster you made took nearly twenty years.

"Do we have the best damn Army in the world, or what?" Yes.
We have an army to be proud of out in the world, and anomie at home to bring us shame.
Main Entry: an·o·mie
Variant(s): also an·o·my /'a-n&-mE/
Function: noun
Etymology: French anomie, from Middle French, from Greek anomia lawlessness, from anomos lawless, from a- + nomos law, from nemein to distribute -- more at NIMBLE :
social instability resulting from a breakdown of standards and values;
also : personal unrest, alienation, and uncertainty that comes from a lack of purpose or ideals

"Oh, like my grandpa?" Exactly.
What did they think? That the streets were paved with gold?

The streets were paved with something back then, but I don’t think it smelled like gold.

I think they were just happy to have paved streets. That's not the kind of paved I was refering to.
*sigh, still, no one can read my mind*
Did you know that in the 1900's the "futurists" of the time were seriously worried about how people in the cities would deal with all the horse s**t in the future?
Series!

*sigh, still, no one can read my mind* I read your mind just fine.
Of course, nowadays, some of your streets are paved with ice!
That ought to bring in the tourists!

Remarkable Valor. If there is any hope for America, it will be in these kinds of men.

It was good, but I don’t remember what it tastes like?
Then it tastes exactly as I would imagine. Sounds glorious.
I’ll have to try some when I see it.
Thanks.

"My mind flies around so fast, I cant even catch a glimpse of it." Probably best that I wasn't paying too much attention, then.
I tend to smack at things that buzz around my head.
