The Lord be Praised! Blessed is His Name.
Interesting homily at St. Benedict Abbey yesterday. It concerned the 6600 Egyptians (Christian converts) and thier leader, St. Moritius, several thousand years ago, who all served in the Roman army. They followed orders, fighting and killing for Rome...eventually marched across the Alps, through Spain to Switzerland. Finally the Emperor said they had to sacrifice to the gods, and they refused, saying they were Christians. So the Romans slaughtered every tenth man. Still they refused, and the Romans killed every one of them. (That town, St. Moritz, named after Saint Moritius, is now a jet set haven.)
That’s good. Jesus didn’t approve of chopping heads off and converting people to a moon god worship by violence.
I read someplace, sometime ago, that leading Muslims held a conference in Morroco to discuss the ever increasing numbers of ‘believers’ who are leaving Islam and converting to Christianity.
