...’I guess it could be an illusion.
Along the lines of “don’t believe everything you read”.’

I think you’re right. Propaganda can help facilitate, but a certain point, they literally create the news they’re propagandizing.

Do you ever just want to crawl away from all the government stuff and just find some “news”?

Almost always. I believe most everything coming out of the government any longer is nothing but propaganda and spin. Of course, I also believe that there's a grain of truth in what they say (from which all propaganda originates...makes it easier for the sheep to believe, you know). That's why it's important to go to original sources as much as possible, i.e., actual bills, and other websites, i.e., the Canadian government, when appropriate (which seems to be necessary more and more often of late), to see what they are saying about the same documents referred to by this government.

While I don’t always agree with you, I’ve seen you’re skills with debating. Just admiring your wisdom and intellect, no big deal. I just don’t see it often, that’s all (lol).

The sub-prime loan 'problem' was manufactured by media muscle.

How are you investing your money? T-Bills, Dow stocks, Overseas, Emerging markets?

“That’s why it’s important to go to original sources as much as possible, i.e., actual bills, and other websites”

That’s hilarious, but absolutely true! In a previous life here, I found the quickest way to kill a good debate was to source...THE source. I actually stopped doing it for a while because it usually brought the conversation to a complete stop (lololol). The other poster just left...not kidding. Oh, the stories :) You know me when it comes to sourcing, if it didn’t come from the horses mouth, one must assume it’s coming from the other end (lol)

I agree, but unfortunately we have this little thing called politics that keeps getting in the way of fixing the broke stuff :)

"How are you investing your money?"

Realestate, foreign and domestic; gold; some time deposits; no stocks to speak of.

Why that's just so odd. I've found the same thing happens when I source....THE source. foflol!

if it didn’t come from the horses mouth, one must assume it’s coming from the other end (lol)

Now, that is hilarious! : )

Interesting you say that.

I speak with many people in the course of my daily activities, and the overall distrust of those running this government is remarkable.

“I speak with many people in the course of my daily activities, and the overall distrust of those running this government is remarkable.”

That’s would also be the “pulse” of a nation. Way too many people trying ignore that pulse as if it didn’t exist.

the overall distrust of those running this government is remarkable.

I hear that quite a bit myself. Unfortunately, I also hear from some people their utter belief in everything and anything that comes out of the White House Propaganda Printing Press.

I find that even more remarkable when the words are juxtaposed with actions.

Some folks are in serious denial.
