I hope I'm wrong.

Me too. But I doubt it.

The shih tzu’s ordeal caps off an amazing story.

Bitten in the butt, the groin, having one of your dogs shot, and the other dragged off by a passing car? Everything that can go wrong, did.

My guns do not have their own central nervous systems. They are inanimate objects which have no free will or the ability to make decisions. Dog on the other hand....

That is one mean-looking dude. I'd imagine Cerberus would look something like that.

He's thankful for now. Wait until the lawyer tells him how much he can earn by being distraught at the loss of he beloved pet.

Good point, but the man is on record. It would be hard to win.

That’s true. On the other hand, you wouldn’t leave one unlocked and loaded on the front sidewalk. The point I am making is, a certain amount of personal responsiblity goes into owning anything dangerous, be it guns or large dogs.

I found this on a training website:

Frankly, most Cane Corsos are “too much dog” for the average household. This is a serious working dog with tremendous strength. Very few people really have the knowledge, facilities, or skills necessary to manage this breed.

They weren’t pits or rotts (for a change)

Sucks that his own dog got shot though :(

Hmm, isn’t that the type of dog that played the Hell Hound in the Omen?

“protective” of children is often doublespeak for being very, very careful around children.

They say the same about Akitas. They are very protective of family. So if a couple of rambunctious playmates come around, they could bite their heads off. Dogs don’t discern like people.

Of course, being I have no young children, and not a lot of wild visitors, they are perfect for my house. I WANT them to bite the heads off anyone who comes into my house in a wild manner. All that said, I don’t think a prospective burglar would get pass the image of the two of them at the front window.

A few months ago, my dogs were growling, at the front door. I turned off the TV to see if I could hear anything, and there was a domestic argument going on in a house a block away. The man was screaming at his wife he would kill her. Good dogs.

Your analogy of guns has a slight flaw. Guns don’t attack people. People attack people. And in some cases, dogs attack people.

But I get your point. I would’ve said they were like a pet lion. You do not let a lion roam the neighborhood. I don’t care how well trained it is. You just don’t do it. It’s your responsibility to make sure the fence is adequate to contain it. It’s your a$$ if he figures out a way over that fence.

I’ve heard that pitbulls are very misunderstood loving pets.

These were Cane Corsos dogs; very large aggressive dogs that make pitts look like lap poodles.

Glad he will make it too but how sad his other dog was shot accidently. I hate it when owners let their animals run loose. It’s not right. Here this man was walking his two dogs ON LEASHES...when two others come out to attack him and his dogs. Thank God for the officer. The owners of the attacking dogs should spend some time in jail or doing something constructive. This is just very sad and very WRONG.

Cane Corsos huh? I’ll add them to my “Things that when the asteroid hits had better watch out for some of my frontier justice” list.

I hope you're wrong about that too. It would stink to see the good samaritan sued because he shot the wrong dog in what had to be a frantic scene.

Personnally though, I hope the guy who got attacked sticks it to the owners of the dogs that started the problem. If you cannot control them you shouldn't own them.
