Don't be silly. The place started out in the 7th century with a smattering of Visigoths and then got invaded and repopulated by Arabs, North Africans and Jews.

It was pretty much like that for the next few centuries.

Then an army under King San Cho Noe I landed from Cornwall (which is NOT Visigothic) and began the Reconquista.

The Cornish knights insinuated themselves into the leadership elites in that period, but the base population stayed put ~ until some time in the 1500s when America was opened for settlement.

It is an error to confound the handful of Spanish nobles of Cornish and French origin with the broad masses of the working people of Medieval Spain.
