Bump...
It’s quite compact, but continues to tighten up. Radar presentation is basically showing an eye at this point and the last few visible shots backed up that idea. It’s starting to get some dry air entrained, so that might slow strengthening a bit.
If trends continue I would expect Hurricane Warnings to fly at 11pm as the landfall point shifts up the TX coast.
I was up in Victoria today and nary a drop. Everything is to the north.
I’m watching a beautiful lightening show, back Mexico way but no rain today here either.
well now I have to make sure and stay up for that!
I think the Weather Channel give an ‘all clear’ for Houston...did you hear that?
Hopefully you will just get the light show!
Not our storm this time.
I didn’t know what was coming from the south. Had big black clouds all to the east today, but they stayed there. Probably all went to Houston. :)
right now it looks like maybe the TX/LA border for landfall

left side really feeling dry air now... might hold it back
Can you explain what the dry air could do to it’s projected path?
Look at the weather channel. There is a big red blob heading our way and maybe yours. Probably from the front though caz it’s coming from the west.
That’s what I was thinking. Just sent a warning note to a friend in La. Like he needs it. LOL
poorly formed eye
NO!!!!! Not N.O.
Poor south Texas is the last that needs it right now, tho.
Right now in Pasadena TX, there is a little sprinkles and about 10mph winds. At least that is what I see out my back door.
Not much, but the upper level winds associated with it might have helped shift it a little up the coast today.
