I dont disagree. Hunter was who I liked before fred even got into it..But i was looking at winability.. And Fred seemed the best... Hunter just didnt have the name recognition that Thompson did... I love Hunter though cause he served in the 173rd in Nam. Same unit as my dad... So I was biased... But a VP is better then nothing...
Ann Coulter supports Hunter as well (how can a conservative not?).
If the media spotlight focuses on Hunter his campaign will explode and he’ll be a contender just because he’s such a good candidate and so attractive to anyone that really looks at his record and his speeches and statements. I will say that his style is low key in the sense that he doesn’t pull a “Ron Paul” and grab the attention by being a bit outlandish. Catch 22. I hope lightening will strike. Hunter did win Texas. He’s won quite a few straw polls actually, more than the “major” contenders. When people see him they like him.
Funny sign!
I AM looking beyond 911.
I am looking at the future of ANY conservative party.
Does ANY conservative party continue to move to the left and remain conservative?
You are correct when you say that Rudy is only on the stage becasue of 911. That's why he is percieved as a hawk, even though he is a liberal with an 'R' in front of his name.
Huckabee cares more about illegals than he does for citizens. You would get to pay the bills for them. I don’t think he will even carry Arkansas. When he first became governor, I like him. It started downhill from there.
I’m voting for Hunter and I like Tancredo.
Sounds wonderful!
Your handle is an insult to all the hard-working, honest, unsophisticated white trash out there!
Hunter first, Thompson second, Tancredo third.
Huckabee lost me over his idiotic statements about Washington, D.C. being represented in Congress.
I took an online survey deal, rating my positions. Hunter was the clear #1, and Rudy was around #4.
But last night, he came off as less PC than most of the others. He may support gays in various ways, but he doesn’t have that fake PC support for them. He really did turn around a corrupt and inefficient city of 12 million. Part of winning the war for our culture is competent administration. If he actually chose to let the liberal social issues be handled on a state by state basis, he could be the biggest thing for federalism in a LONG time.
That being said, I do hope that Thompson comes on strong now, because I really, really want him to be the man. Then a Thompson/Hunter ticket would be the way to go. Without a doubt, I would put Guliani in as DHS head. The man really can manage a large organization.
Of course, what would a Thompson/Guliani ticket do? Rudy is young enough to dream of 2016, but can be be “straightened” out in 8 years?
Fred.
Thompson needs to remember the lesson from Bob Dole. If Dole had shown the spark of personality during the campaign that he showed afterward, things might have turned out differently for him.
And more people watched Fred than all the people combined in all the GOP debates. I’d say Fred understands entertainment, better than boring debates. He got his point across without 8 others jabbering away talking points ad nauseum.
