Because nobody else has a chance to stop Tiger from taking the top prize. It turns the Fedex Cup into a gift from the tour to Tiger Woods. Tiger needs another 10 mil. He’s got a new baby, you know.

The PGA commissioner promised Phil that they would work with him if he would go along with them

I haven't gone thru all the posts yet, but it's my understanding that Phil had 4 requests .... do you have any idea what they were?

Phil was well aware of the Fedex playoff schedule in advance. He should have announced BEFORE winning this past week that he wouldn't play in the BMW. My guess is that if he had not finished in a top 10 position he would have been in Chicago today despite his daughters' school starting.
