Craig, IMHO, needs to resign quietly and go away. He is going to create a spectacle that will not be good for himself, his family, the State of Idaho, or the nation.

He pled guilty...the guilty plea he signed states very clearly that that DA does not take guilty pleas from people who "think" they are innocent and have done nothing wrong. He signed it.

That's enough. Let the Governor appoint another conservative to fill out the term and not risk the seat.

Apparently you can’t believe Craig until he confirms his resignation via hand signals.

I’m guessing that Craig may get to withdraw his plea. I just heard that the arresting officer may have violated the law by even detaining Craig on a misdemeanor if he was traveling to or from legislative sessions.

U.S. Constitution, Article I, Section 6. The Senators and Representatives shall receive a compensation for their services, to be ascertained by law, and paid out of the treasury of the United States. They shall in all cases, except treason, felony and breach of the peace, be privileged from arrest during their attendance at the session of their respective Houses, and in going to and returning from the same; and for any speech or debate in either House, they shall not be questioned in any other place.
Interesting. Was Craig involved in a recognized constitutional "breach of the peace"? Would the Court take that position?

I'm starting to find the Craig matter to be more interesting. Note how Senator Byrd avoided arrest and a ticket for crashing his Caddy into the back of another vehicle after following too closely.

What every politician needs to recognize is that he or she is NOT indispensible. There are lots of conservative politicians in Idaho who can perform senatorial duties just as well as Larry Craig.

Overall, Larry Craig has been a good Senator but he needs to realize that his time is up. It is truly sad that it has to end this way but it has to end.

Did you see the Tonight Show tonight?

Jay Leno suggested to Fred a bumper sticker: Fred, he’s got a narrow stance.
