He might be, but I don't care. I don't want one single more October Surprise for the next 20 years and if we can September surprise them a year in advance, we need to do it.

I realize Oct. surprises are hugely profitable to media, but I ain't in this for their bottom line. May as well switch to the rat party if I go along with this.

OJ never admitted his guilt (other than the spiked ‘If I Did It’ book). Larry Craig did.

Oh, Geez, do they have to explain this to you again...

Any and all behavior is perfectly OK, as long as you don’t speak out against it and then engage in that very same behavior.

They do have a point about hypocrisy. Then again, based on liberal logic raping and pillaging an entire village would be fine as long as you went easy on the guys who were caught raping and pillaging last year. You know, blame the system, the man, poverty, two America’s and the unfairness of it all that drove those misguided folks to rape and pillage.

Then you can rape and pillage all you want. You have for all intents and purposes purchased raping and pillaging offset credits.

He plead guilty to disorderly conduct, nothing else. That could mean he was arguing with the officer (which he was). Did he actually confess to soliciting sex from the undercover cop? I don't remember seeing that "fact" in all the media frenzy. Craig may not be totally innocent in all of this, but it sure stinks to high heaven of railroading!

Knock Three Times

By Boney Orlando and Pawn

Hey guy whatcha doin in there
Sittin’ alone on this day while I sit right next to you
I can hear your toes a tappin’
I can see your fingers slidin’
One door beside me you don’t even know me
I want you

chorus
Oh my darlin’
Knock three times on the toilet if you want me
Twice on the door if the answer is no
Oh my sweetmeat
Means you’ll meet me at the half way
Twice on the door means you ain’t gonna go

If you look under your stall tonite
Tappin’ the foot with the code thats attached to my heart
See how many times I’m a tappin’
How in my code I’m a trollin’
And only in my dreams did that wall between us come down

chorus
Oh my darlin
Knock three times on the toilet if you want me
Twice on the sink if the answer is no
Oh my sweetmeat
Means you’ll meet me at the half way
Twice on the door means you ain’t gonna go

Oh i can hear your feet a tappin’
I can see your fingers slidin’
One door beside me you don’t even know me
I want you

chorus
Oh my darlin
Knock three times on the toilet if you want me
Twice on the door if the answer is no
Oh my sweetmeat
Means you’ll meet me at the half way
Twice on the door means you ain’t gonna go

Been reading your comments with interest. I've also been reading quite a bit online the past few days -- for instance, about the physical layout of MSP Airport, especially the Lindbergh terminal and its accomodations.

Here's an accessibility study of major public accomodations in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. In Chapter 2, it includes coverage of the airport terminals and on page 16 of that study it states --

All restrooms at the Lindbergh and Humphrey Terminals have extra-wide stalls with side grab bars. The Lindbergh Terminal has companion care restrooms at the following locations ...

Hmm...

And here is an interesting site on technical standards imposed on new public construction since enactment of disabilities legislation in the 1980s/90s. It's pretty informative on the subject of water closets, their allowable configurations and dimensions.

I know you probably listened to the audio of Craig's arrest interview. I must have listened to it a dozen times. Maybe I've got this wrong, but I'm pretty sure Craig says he lowered his pants, sat down to go to the bathroom and spread his legs out to keep his pants from slipping to the floor. But you can only abduct the leg to the side from the hip joint. How far can that leg travel to the side (in an extra-wide stall) with the pants lowered like that? Maybe Craig wears those elastic type slacks. That must be it -- unless he was not actually sitting in that (extra-wide) stall the way he says he was.

I wonder if any investigative reporters have walked into that restroom and actually made a diagram of the layout. That might tell us alot about what's possible/impossible, likely/unlikely.

Anyway, this article caught my eye just yesterday...

On Wednesday, the Minneapolis-St. Paul Star Tribune obtained the airport police reports of the 41 men arrested for sexual misconduct since May. Nearly every report said a plainclothes officer was conducting a detail in response to complaints of sexual activity in the restroom at Lindbergh Terminal's North Star Crossing.

The ages of those arrested range from 21 to 75, and seven of the men list their employer as Northwest Airlines. Almost every man followed a pattern of activity similar to Craig's.

Somebody would look in the stall, tap a foot and wait for a return tap. A hand was run underneath the stall divider. Some men stuck their heads underneath the stall.

Works for me. I think he should fight this and win (which he will), not resign his Senate seat and just not run again as we can do better. It was ridiculous for him to plead guilty and resign over this trumped up charge.

A man walks into the bathroom. HE sits down to do his business and reaches for a piece of paper.

The next thing he knows, he is being arrested. So he pleads guilty to a misdemeanor, trying to make it all just go away.

That is Larry Craig’s story.

Sorry, but that is the stupidest sequence of events I’ve ever seen. Assume for a moment that Craig did NOTHING wrong and had NOTHING to hide.

WHY WOULD HE PLEAD GUILTY TO ANYTHING? TO MAKE IT GO AWAY?

Yeah, right. I plead guilty to a crime so that no one will find out........find out what?

Unless Stein and Limbaugh have solid proof this was a complete and total setup and Craig doesn't have a gay bone in his body (yeah right) I'm forced to move Ben and Rush into the media whore column.

Seems like to me that Rush spent a lot of time defending Craig today and he made a couple of statements that made me say "WTH'.

He said "do we want to live in a country where a man cannot pick up another man?".

Then he said "what's wrong with being gay?". Anyway, Rush was way off his game today.

Should the people of Idaho believe anything he says when he won't abide by a promise to leave the Senate as agreed?

I for one, am p*ssed (potty language) that he did his crap in Minneapolis. Stay in Idaho. We have enough problems in Minneapolis.

Disorderly conduct?? How evil is THAT crime? Cindy Sheehan's probably plead guilty to that a billion times, with pride!

Some people seem to have forgotten that it's "presumed innocent BEFORE being proven guilty", not the other way around, sadly. :-(

Good for Rush. Sounds like he was enjoying twisting the Democrats double standards about a bit.

I wonder how many around here have heard the ‘confession’ tape.

“You can either plead guilty and we can keep it under wraps and it all goes away, you can make your flight... or you can fight it and I’ll have to file a report, it will be in the media, you will have to come to court, you will not make your flight, etc... I’m so embarrassed for you, I’m ashamed of you... now what do you want to do?”

When you plead guilty, if you have no criminal record (he didn’t), you can have the charge reduced. Hence, it was reduced from lewd conduct to disorderly conduct. Seems to me it was also easier to get him on the disorderly, i.e., resisting arrest... which he did when Karsnia displayed his badge, Craig responded “No!” Then the officer cajoled him into leaving the restroom peacefully and quietly. At least, according to the police report.

He was sentenced to 1 year probation, which he is serving now, and means if caught in the same situation he would be in bigger trouble. Assuming he was looking for bathroom sex and has done this before, that at least stops that kind of behavior and justice is served.... temporarily.

Makes you think about how this kind of thing is handled.

Anyway, I’m sure we’re all avoiding public restrooms more these days. The janitors are probably happy about that.
