“The Drudge Report” affiliates have been told Drudge is quitting radio to focus on his website and other endeavors. His last show will air 10 p.m.-1 a.m. on Sept. 30 on Clear Channel’s WKRC-AM (500).

It was a good show...totally loose and fun and real...great, great music, wild IMPROV feel...nothing liked the phoney jacked-up Hannity with repetitive Bush talking points over and over every day and NO independent thinking ever....but Hannity is worse on TV where he bullies guests with sophomoric interruptions ala early O’Reilly....he really has no dignity and makes the RIGHT look looney......

Kind of funny that this story is making the rounds around the internet, except for Drudge’s site. Suggests to me that this was not his decision.

Good grief horrible news. For years Sunday evening meant The Sopranos followed by Drudge. If I thought I felt a void after The Sopranos ended, this will certainly magnify it. Only consolation is that it's of Matt's choosing, and not ABC showing him the door.

Wish he waited until after the 2008 elections just to hear him apologize to his listeners when HC loses the election he's so sure she'll win.

Bill Cunningham is a pretty lively radio guy. I remember when I lived in Ohio Bill Cunningham had a radio show on WLW form about 9pm to midnight (he might still do it for all I know). Cunningham will definetely be more interesting than the sedated John BAtelor guy.

I listen to him on ABC radio.com. Now they were recently sold, think that had anything to do with his demise?

Almost never listen to Hannity, another repeater, rarely has an original thought.

Now ABC is running Bob Grant after Mark. Everybody seem to call and rave about how good he is/was. Whatever he had, he seems to have lost it.

You can be sure that if it works, Hannity will copy it, just like he copied Likmbaugh’s show format and even the soundbites until Limbaugh chewed him out for it! :)

I think Drudge will leave the US....maybe do an online venture. He has been really up in arms about Hillary’s statements about shutting him down...perhaps he feels being outside the US will help.
