He should stop ease dropping. It’s sounds like a group of friends were having a good time.

Ebonics was the front-runner for the dual-English-Spanish language programs being imposed on native Americans across the country in elementary school. If Spanish is that important, we would be moving to Spanish-speaking countries, not the other way around.

One of these days I might tiptoe beyond a "How ya DOIN'?" and try a "Hey, what's happening?" A baby step, right? A step, not in the black-or-white direction, but in the right direction.

Still, I feel pathetically and unforgivably white.

Well, he is pathetic.

"Biologically, race is a myth. We are all rainbows of genetic variation." We have, in other words, the whole pool of humankind, back to the beginning, sloshing around in each of us.

I'd like to believe that's true, but in the real world there are many traits that strongly correlate with race.

Fortunately, this "ebonics" nonsense is not one of them. Nothing keeps these individuals from learning proper English.

why should language and culture be an "either-or?" Why can't it be a "both-and?"

OR HOW ABOUT, "ONE"?

I hadn’t even met a person of color, in fact, until I started college.

I stopped there...

That’s a lifetime supply of whining and self loathing right there.....

Quick, do us all a favor. Grab a rope and hang yourself.
