Put a few empty 12 guage casings on the window sill too.

“My mother in law is in town so my wife and I used the time to run out to the firing range...”

Unpleasant woman, is she?

Actually she's a doll, I get along quite well with her. It's just that we don't generally leave our seven year old girl with anyone but family so she's here acting as babysitter.

it's fun for her, and lets my wife gets a little extra time to herself. I suggested we go out to dinner or something, but she said she would rather practice her shooting.

Your wife sounds like someone I'd like to know. That's just too cool.

My favorite "no trespassing" sign (I saw it posted here):

Trespassers will be shot!

Survivors will be shot again.

Novice women who achieve their first success at shooting are a delight to watch. My wife will “qualify” from time to time, but she seems to follow more traditional persuits. I envy men I know at my trap range whose wives come shoot with them.

When we were finished, this is what was left of "Target No 1".

That's a beautiful bit of work.

About the only (potentially) better image I can think of would be
a human outline target with about 50 rounds to the head,
50 rounds to the heart area,
and 50 rounds to the groin...each in a tight cluster.

All shot with something like a Desert Eagle (available in .50 cal?).

Or maybe the same sort of outlines with a few blasts each to
the afore-mentioned body areas...peppered liberally with "OO" buckshot.

Just to let them know that even if they think they can "duck"
a shot from a good pistol shot...
they probably won't evade a couple of shot-shells fired even by
a seven-year old!

"Better you than me", right?

It's not a noble philosophy, passing the problem off to your neighbor.

A better way to protect your community is: "Come right in... I'm harmless, really..."

I'd rather see things settled, finally, than keep having my neighborhood robbed and terrorized.

I know another FReeper couple who are very much the same way. :-)

Actually the target is just up against the wall in my garage, behind my car, attracting zero attention. All the same though, I’d love to save everyone in my community if I can, but my neighbors should have no illusions about who I’m going to save first.
