Once people ban together in a group and act without legal sanction they are fair game for accusations.

Act without legal sanction??? That's not how our free system works. We do not need legal permission to act -- we are allowed to do anything that is not explicitly prohibited.

That statement exhibits the same misunderstanding of our system as Giuliani does (see my tagline). The government and the Constitution do not spell out the limited number of things we can do -- they spell out the limited number of things the government can do (and the limited number of things the government can prohibit us from doing).

It's not surprising that Giuliani does not unequivocally support the minuteman project -- he fundamentally does not believe in personal self-defense.

...he fundamentally does not believe in personal self-defense.

How do you know these things?

I infer it from the fact that in addition to his anti-second amendment stance, Mayor Giuliani also vigorously opposed Pataki’s efforts to legalize even non-lethal self-defense sprays (NY was the only state in the US where such sprays were illegal).
