Population contraction in 2080?
Let the great-grand kids worry about it...

Gentlemen, start your engines. Ladies, you know what to do.LOL. The article is a good one. It will have the NAGS screaming as they regard having children as a form of slavery. But it's have babies or be replaced by a culture that will. Hmmm. Germaine al Greer. How does that sound?
To: ModelBreaker
It’s not an easy thing to solve.
You can’t “force” people to have kids, and if you do, the kids are unwanted and not a good contribution to society in many cases.

I'm always reminded of the promises God gave to the Israelites centuries ago-- the curses that would fall on them for turning away from God--
Deuteronomy 28:15 However, if you do not obey the LORD your God and do not carefully follow all his commands and decrees I am giving you today, all these curses will come upon you and overtake you: 16 You will be cursed in the city and cursed in the country.
17 Your basket and your kneading trough will be cursed.
18 The fruit of your womb will be cursed, and the crops of your land, and the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks.

I'm doing my part...going to hopefully keep my wife barefoot and pregnant for the next several years!!!
She, the mother of our children and keeps the house in order. I continue to work myself to an early death to support them all. It's the trade off that's worked in the days before, it should still work now. I've offered to stay at home with the kids and she work, but that didn't go over so well. I have to do it for the human race don't ya know.....:-)

“Pollicy” as in “fallacy” - Freudian slip there?
I love that we’re reduced to breeding stock.

A pro-natalist politics, then, seeks not to persuade people to have children, but rather tries to make having children more economically feasible. And it can start, as most everything in government does, with taxes. Like, maybe, reducing them. Dramatically. In a great many cases Mama's gotta work, 'cause Daddy spends half the year working working to pay taxes. The income-tax lines on my pay stub are an abhomination and a disgrace. Then I have to pay property taxes, sales taxes, gas taxes, etc. ad nauseaum.
These are the times that try men's souls.

"Portugal (fertility rate: 1.48) is trying to change its pension system so workers with fewer than two children will pay more into it through taxes." I like that idea. Applied in the United States, it would have the effect of benefiting conservatives over liberals.

Somewhat. Remember, lots of Democrat-voting welfare moms and immigrants have 5 kids.

I think in the case of many liberal women “the fruit of their womb” ends up in the disposal bin of the local family planning clinic...

I postulate the the decline in birthrate within western countries can be directly linked to the decline in Christian values.
