Probably not
Now, liberals apparently are demanding privately-owned organizations not associate with Christianity, either. Who is really being intolerant and trying to suppress freedom?
You I’m sure are aware that the only reason the Pirates have the problems they do is the size of their market.
How many folks live in the Pittsburg area as opposed to say even Cleveland or San Diego?
Whereas markets like L.A. and N.Y. have gagillions of fans and
their associated revenue.
Hard to buy good players or at least keep them with small operating costs.
If you read the Gospels carefully, you will see this is the case. "Not one jot or tittle", etc. You will see that Jesus came to pay the debt of sin for His people who, though they cannot ever repay God for His unspeakable gift, nevertheless desire to live unto Him, according to HIs will rather than their own pleasures.
An attempted analogy: think of bypass surgery. Some people may light up a cigarette first thing after getting out of surgery, but many will try to make lifestyle changes. While it is the surgery itself that extended their life, the lifestyle changes bolster and nourish its effects, and show cognizance of what necessitated the surgery in the first place. (the analogy breaks down, as the smoker in the analogy represents an unsaved person - one who bears no fruits after receiving the truth ala Hebrews 6:4).
BTW regarding the ceremonial law (do not eat certain things, etc.) I fully agree with you.
“The law for all mankind is just ten commandments. The Hebrews had additional laws. “
Where did Jesus or any of the writers of the NT state that?
“Jesus said ‘if ye love Me, keep my commandments’.”
This is not referring to the 10 Commandments. The Law He meant was to ‘Love the Lord your God with all your mind, soul, and strength and your neighbor as yourself.’ As He said, this was the embodiment of the whole Law.
“Col. 2:16 refers to additional holidays and sabbaths that are not part of The Sabbath. Sometimes they would honor an emperor or a certain person or event.”
Huh? The word ‘Sabbath’ in that verse is the same one which refers to the Sabbath the Jews were required to keep holy everywhere else in the NT. For example, in Matt 12:2 when Jesus gets grief for picking corn on the Sabbath (hmm. . . how well was He keeping the Sabbath that day?) it is the same word for ‘Sabbath’ as the word used in Col. 2:16.
Faith Night is Sept 15th for the Minnesota Twins. I saw that on TV and remembered you and this thread.
We are probably gonna get smoked by Detroit, so I’ll refrain. :)
