Appears to be no news today from Emery county. The hole should be through and meetings with the families taking place, barring troubles with the drill.

Looks like they Will break through in about 30 minutes, but then it will take a few more hours to get a camera down there.

Thanks! Seems like a slow news day with the mine rescue. I hope they find something when they put the camera down there!

Crews Prepare to Lower Camera Into Mine Again [SL Tribune]
Meanwhile, mining officials are in Huntington right now, briefing the miners families. We've been told to expect a media briefing at the mine about 7 p.m. [MDT]
The Trib has done a great job on this event, and scooped a few stories to my surprise. Seems to me KUTV is usually quickest with depth. KSL is doing a good job, too. I guess adversity brings out the best.

Well, without divulging too much info, I work for one of the 3 you mentioned. And it’s probably not the one you think. Have to run, bbltr

LOL. I couldn't help but think of the poisoned wine scene from Princess Bride...But it's so simple. All I have to do is divine it from what I know of you. Are you the sort of man who would put the poison into his own goblet or his enemies? Now, a clever man would put the poison into his own goblet because he would know that only a great fool would reach for what he was given. I am not a great fool so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of you ... But you must have known I was not a great fool; you would have counted on it, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of me.

You’re trying to trick me into giving away something. It won’t work.
btw, looks bad on home front. No audible signs at all. Lowering the camera overnight.

I read that this latest hole is 3 miles from where the miners were working. What’s the logic behind that?
To: glock rocks
To: Abigail Adams
The mine entrance is 3.5 miles from where the miners are trapped. It’s a long drive underground to get to the end of the mine where the cave in is. They use little Toyota type trucks to get around and transport personnel. Murray is extremely anti-Union and my guess is that he let things get sloppy.

To: Abigail Adams; Ros42
from KTVX With underground tunneling toward the missing men halted, officials had hoped the fourth hole drilled into the collapsed mine would finally offer clues to whether the men were alive, 1,500 feet below ground.
Stickler said a fifth hole was in the works. He said crews spent at least four hours beating on the drill steel and setting off explosives to try to get the miners' attention. Both were fruitless.
