Mattis’ action is bound to have one unfortunate but wholly foreseeable result: his chances for promotion, especially to CMC, have all but disappeared.

If GW has any guts he better promote this guy to 4 stars and make him a member of the JCS. Hurah. And I was not a Marine Retired USAF but this guy is a real leader amen General!

It’s rumored of late the he will be leaving Camp Pendleton this Fall with the inferrence that he’ll be promoted, I hope it’s true but don’t know it for a fact.

It appears that being a Marine comes first with Gen. Mattis. He sticks his finger in the wind only to see how much windage he needs on a long shot, not to decide the fate of his Marines.
