Just commenting on the fact that the complaints aimed at Barry are primarily because these people hat Bonds period.

Wrong. It has everything to do with the steroids. People want to be excited when somebody breaks one of the most hallowed records in baseball, so when somebody breaks the record through several years of cheating with steroids, that pisses us off.

Hank was a junkie? Cool! I love the hell out of revisionist history!

Babe Ruth too, and he was real sneaky about it -- steroids in his hot dogs.

Hank Aaron: a true hero, and a gentleman.
I was honored to shake his hand.

There’s a new homerun champion of all time and it’s Barry Bonds.

Until A-Rod and/or Pujols surpasses him.

No. Not at all. Before the alledged steroid accusations came out people were casting aspersions against Barry for other things. He’s been the target of complaints and abuse from fans and sports media people almost from the moment he put on a Giant’s uniform. So, you are wrong that it is only about this alleged steroid use.

He’s reunified the single-season and career HR records, which haven’t been in the same hands since that October day when Maris hit 61.

I use to like baseball years ago when I was a kid. But it is so slow and boring...give me hockey anyday. Plus, it is much easier to get autographs and talk to hockey stars. I met Wayne Gretzky even. I guess I am a hockey fanatic. Sorry Barry...I don’t care about you or your sport anymore.

Oh yes...another thing I forgot to mention...

Bonds may be very big and muscular for the majority of his body...but, due to steroids, I understand certain parts become very small.

What evidence do you have that Aaron didn’t use any substance to enhance his performance? Since no testing of any type occured in his days you can’t say he did not use something (and since amphetamines were heavily used in those days whose to say he didn’t join in?). Prove your ascertion either against Barry or for Aaron.

What a pathetic defense, trying to smear Hank Aaron to defend your Roid-Boy Bonds.

Bonds knows A-Rod's a-comin' fast, so he'll do whatever he can to put that record out of reach. If that means DHing in the AL until he just can't hit anymore, so be it.

How pathetic are you to smear Bonds? What evidence does anyone have except simple accusations and innuendo? None.

Hank Aaron a class act. Barry Bonds not. Too bad it had to be Bonds to break Hank’s record. Bond’s record will always be mired with controversy.

An asterick on steroids, if you will.

Might it be that *gasp* pitchers are using performance enhancing drugs, too?

If they are, its not steroids. They bloat your muscles and strain your tendons and ligaments and it isnt really usefull to pitchers

Fact is, all the other major sports do a lot more and rigorous drug testing than does major league baseball.

Hey, how do you think Lyle Alzado and Ken Caminiti felt about dieing painful deaths at 40 from all the steroids they shot into themselves? Was it worth it ? (if it was , then thats really sad)
