I saw the E2d ... good heavens it looks serious. I would hope never to need the rippled edge ...or get close enough to a perp to need it.
The Z2: "... bright enough to temporarily blind and disorient a person by impairing his night-adapted vision. Light output may be nearly doubled with optional P61 lamp."
The upgrade to the P61 lamp has stunning results.
Have you discovered the website "all-battery.com" ??? I've found their lithium batteries to be excellent for the surefire...and if you get on their mailing list, they send updates on special offers about once month. There are some good deals.

The other thread had a reference to playing the "brown note" so I looked it up on Wikipedia. Sounds like some serious research work, including Myth Busters, had a go at it, but none of the experiments, involving sub-sonics at high dB levels, ever seemed to do more than cause a vague feeling of dread.
Robert Heinlein even mentioned this concept in Sixth Column.

I’ll check that site. That’s the one thing I don’t like about SF is the battery life and the cost.

I need to apologize for misleading you. Silly me. I just looked into my "battery cache" for the SF and guess what ....I had
bought the SF batts from SF... not allbatteries, as I first said.
What attracted me was 1.) price and 2.) the ten-year shelf life! I bought a couple of boxes and at $21. ... a deal! I have good back-up for quite some time.
That being said, I do use all.batteries as a great source for rechargeables, et al ... I like their tenergy house brand. ;-)
