Why was this Thread previously pulled?The FACT that Active Duty US Military are primarily supporting RON PAUL is a legitimate News Story worthy of reporting on Free Republic, which is a Pro-US-Military Website!!

Unless I'm mistaken, this is based on the same BS study that:
(1) relied on self-identification to determine who was in the military;
(2) referred to "employees" of the military, not soldiers;
(3) had a huge percentage of donations with no employment information, meaning there was a large margin of error; and
(4) the total donations to RP amounted to a mere 1% of all of his donations.
Oh, and RP is still a crackpot with 1%-3% support. He'll be the next manager at the local Wendy's before he's the Republican nominee for President.

Kind of like trying to push a propped up story about troops supporting Tsongas, or Simon, or LaRouche. JUST AINT HAPPENING.

For all I know, this Thread was previously pulled due to the insane frothing of the Paul-bashers against a good man, Ron Paul, who was Ronald Reagan's choice for Leader of his Electoral Delegation from Texas.
Hopefully, this time around, the Paul-bashers won't be so quick to insult an honorable man who was one of Ronald Reagan's closest supporters.

Army Times also had a story on it which caused the Paul-bashers to call Army Times a leftwing publication.
Just what is the Army Times?.....
It’s a Gannett publication not owned by the military.
You’ve posted from them and they are on the do not post list here at FR..... Maybe you’d like to alert the Admin Mod to pull that post.....

Okay. For whatever reason this thread was previously pulled, that's your discretion. You've got the thankless job of "herding cats", and Jim Rob trusts you to do so; me, I just pay my monthly subscription.
However, I do hope that you'll allow this thread to remain in the News/Activism Forum this time around. It is News; it concerns Activism (US Military support for Ron Paul), and I hope that Threads concerning US Military support for Republican candidates will be permitted for discussion.
Thank you for moderating the Forum. I don't imagine it's an easy job.

I posted a fair-use excerpt. I think it's under 300 words (but didn't actually count them yet). And we quite often have fair-use quotes from websites on the do-not-post-articles list, either the ones who have requested no articles posted or those JimRob has banned from FR. Some Paul-bashers have even quoted that notorious banned racist site extensively and posted links here. I didn't see you complain about that, did I?
Of course, I can see why you don't want people to know about RP's military support, given the dismal support all the other GOP candidates (except McCain) have received thus far.
But I am flagging the moderator as you requested if he wants to remove my brief excerpted quote from the upcoming Army Times print edition.

Those were early numbers, compiled by Paul supporters from the reports posted on the web at FEC. Not independent examination by media or FEC which confirm those early findings.
It is the same garbage. The article linked by the OP only says that RP claims his fund raising is turning heads: "Rep. Ron Paul (Texas) ... said his colleagues have taken notice that he has raised more money from active service members than any other GOP White House hopeful... Many of my colleagues were amazed and encouraged that you can be against this unconstitutional and disastrous war, and get military support. It's all based on what RP is claiming others have said.
The Army Times article is the same junk. It requires folks to self-identify themselves as soldiers, which is a pretty sloppy way to do a study and gives you huge margin of errors. And these numbers are pathetic. $14,000 out of $2.5M is supposed to be something significant?

Interesting that Paul gets more donations from US military personnel than the other candidates.
I am beginning to wonder if the GOP establishment is truly nervous about Paul. More than just the “he cant win” spin

Yeah, $14,000 is really gonna turn heads in a race where the leading candidates raised $30M, esp. where the person claiming to be getting the donations is at 1-3% in the polls.
I guess the RP supporters need something to hang their hats on, given the dismal poll numbers.
