>>>> Benedict Arnold was reviled by both Americans and British alike.

Dem leaders are already backing away:
a) he worked against them in the senate
b) he was once a Republican-can they trust him to be liberal enough for them
c) they already had a horse in the AG race (pitiful as he is - at least he is theirs)

This does call into question the GOP senators' judgment in making him the chairman of the Senate GOP caucus.

I smell opportunism and self-promotion in the morning.

He wants to run for higher office and decided how to get there. They teach that in “how to get MO deceased votes 101”.

Funny how the MSM missed out on the hundreds of switches from DEM to GOP that took place from 2000 until 2006.

Sounds like ambition is all that matters to this filthbag.

And that differentiates him from every other politician how?

Drawn and quartered would be a good start. It will be interesting to see if the rodents repudiate him first, as they already have previously declared candidates in the race.

Interesting. The 31st district isn’t a suburban district that supported the stem cell initiative, it’s a mostly rural area south and south east of Kansas City. I don’t think it’s a great career move for him since he had a better chance of getting the nomination as a Republican. He’s been very outspoken in his support for stem cell research since he’s been in the legislature so that must really be his big reason for the switch.

It's a Saint Louis paper. Off hand I can't think of too many Missouri office holders that have made that switch recently.

And that differentiates him from every other politician how?

By a matter of degree. The Former Twelfth Lady, for example,is willing to do *anything* to satisfy her ambitions.Other politicians aren't prepared to go quite that far...or,perhaps....nearly that far.

This clown was prepared to become a RAT.That indicates to me a basic amorality and/or a breathtaking level of ambition.

ok, so why did you ping me to this thread?

This guy is not my state senator, in fact I don’t even live in his state.

Furthermore, I have no interest, or even passing curiosity as to whether some politician in another state calls himself a republican, a democrat, or an independent.

Please don’t bother.

“he promised “a speech that may transform the political landscape of Missouri.”

Delusional that he is somehow important.

You belong on the don’t ping me ping list. We’ll see about getting you added to it.
/;?) Just kidding

Private messages also work to get removed from a pinglist. It’s much more civil.

And if they thought that their political life depended on it I'd bet that every Republican in the state legislature, or in Congress would do the same.

Calculated or not, he is a Marxist’s. IF he were a true conservative, he would never, ever even think of this move. It only proves that he was one all the time. Like the guy who says, acts in public, like Mr. Niceguy, but goes home, watches porn and beats his wife. He hid in the closet. Now he comes out.

I think we should be happy to get rid of all the RINOs and get the pubs back on track!
