The only reason Ron Paul is getting so much ink is because he has embraced “blame America” rhetoric in his foreign policy speeches. That viewpoint does not reflect the overwhelming majority of Libertarians.

Indeed I do.

The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government, are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State governments are numerous and indefinite. I know some of these ideas come as foreign to those that play at federalism, but marriage falls under 'lives, liberties, and properties of the people'. It is an institution that is recognized by the separate and sovereign states and not something intended to be a federal matter.

LOL, still putting up that canard eh? Don't you have something else to play with? Tell us, how does he vote on those issues (as if you didn't already know)? His duty is to present the earmarks to Congress, just as his duty is to vote against same said earmarks if it comes to a vote (which it usually doesn't).

Have you contacted your Representative and told him you don’t want any local funding from the Feds? Call him tomorrow and let him know that you are totally opposed to any federal spending in your district.

Many folks are paying attention to the size and power of the federal government, our sovereignty, and ongoing meddling in foreign affairs. This is why Paul has the support he does.

The way it works in Paul's office is that local groups and officials from his district make pitches to him for federal funding. The congressman passes along those recommendations to the Appropriations Committee as earmark requests. Paul said he tries to treat everyone equally and rejects few requests. He said it would be unfair "for me to close the door and say this is a bunch of junk."

But in the end, Paul said, he would likely vote against the spending bills even if they included earmarks he sought.

So limiting the federal government & protecting our sovereignty doesn't mean anything to you, I guess.

Your premise is mistaken.

Anybody who is seriously interested in limiting the federal government and protecting our sovereignty would be making a huge mistake in vesting his support in a fringe candidate who wouldn't capture a single district outside the bounds of Victoria County, TX.

Paul has approximate zero chance of winning the nomination (and less than zero of winning the election, should he run as an independent). Consequently, he will be unable to ever do a damn thing about limiting government and protecting our sovereignty.

I'm not calling him a nut. Nor do I believe his supporters are nuts. But they are sure as hell smoking the good stuff.
