I heartily agree, Restornu!
In every one of the meetings referenced you will hear much reference to, quotation from, and stories and teachings from the Bible. As for Sunday School, the subject matter is kept on a 4-year cycle and it rotates through study of 1. The Old Testament, 2. The New Testament, 3. The Book of Mormon (Another Testament of Jesus Christ), and 4. Church History/Doctrine & Covenants. That means that every 4 years we study the Bible from the beginning of The Old Testament to the end of The New Testament. Jesus Christ is the center of our faith and that should be evident to anyone who attends our meetings.

We are electing a President not a Priest in Chief..
He is a good man sister!
It didn't take much. I posted a link about the actual history of Joseph Smith, and this biblical verse.
"Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world." - 1 John 4:1
You are free restornu to post all the articles and chats you wish on Free Republic. I notice, however, than when anyone disagrees or raises the slightest counter - the attacks are not far behind. That's OK with me, as long as we don't go back to the all out assaults and mails to the Admin Moderators asking for censorship, banning of members, and the deleting of posts the LDS community does not want to hear. And, it did happen, right here on Free Republic.
Actually the word “meetinghouse” is very similar to the word “synogogue” which in Hebrew is “bet knesset” which means “house of meeting.”
So is it okay to proselytize Mormonism or any other religion on FR?
Cult bigotry is okay and Islam is a just a big cult.
Religion has the goal of peace and most cults’ goal is just death.
Appropriate dress? What if I were a homeless visitor would I be asked to leave?
The real question I have and have never understood is the assignment of ‘wards’.
Why as an LDS do I have to go to a ‘wad’ as assigned, why can’t I go where I want?
The reason I ask is because my uncle/aunt went to a ‘ward’ for about twenty years they moved a couple of miles away and were told they HAD to go to the closest ‘ward’ as opposed to where their long time friends were.
Do you know why this is?
Time to crank up the “My Five Wives” DVD!

Mr. Davis,
When did I ever mention Mitt Romney, or the 2008 election period?
I did not. I can read you tag line sir.
I agree with you resty. I think anyone who is thinking of voting for Mitt should investigate Mormonism NOW!
Starting with a typical Sunday 3 HOUR block of meetings would be a good place.
Good question. I've been curious myself. I am not LDS but have had many friends that were.
