First of all, I am not a child.

Secondly, you still did not answer the question. Yes or no, Satan and Jesus are "spirit" brothers, correct? Just answer yes or no. That's enough. Thanks.

“You say about Christians, “They are the religion of the common people in this country”. Does that make pagans uncommon? That sounds a little condescending.”

Actually most pagans that I meet are working class and hardly elites. I mean that the average every day person in this country and the broad middle class of Americans have been Christian. To such an extent that it is the religion of the common person. Other religions are also common person religions. But the greatest concentration of common persons in this country have been Christian and Conservative Christian at that.

As far as all religions being linked together. I would look a the story lines of the different religions and see similar themes all thorugh them.

Many years ago I heard about Solomon Spalding. After many years of reading I am more convinced than ever that Spalding was the author of whatever book became The Book of Mormon.

Having a sister that has been a Mormon for many years has also given me insight into the church. After many fervent years, she is at best a lapsed Mormon.

There are many good people there, but as a religion and a salvation, IMO, it leaves much to be desired.

Joseph Smith was a humble servant of the Lord no matter how you try to spin it!

In case you missed with colorcountry posted:

I have more to boast of than any man had. I am the only man that has ever been able to keep a whole church together since the days of Adam. A large majority of the whole have stood by me. Neither Paul, John, Peter, nor Jesus ever did it. I boast that no man ever did such work as I (History of the Church, Vol.6, pp. 408-09).

Such humility. Joseph Smith seems humble in the same way that bill clinton is a faithful husband.

I want to know why is is so hard to read and track what it says in the scriptures?

Since Lucifer sang among the morning stars and Lucifer being in spirit one of them as in Job 38:7

Jesus also was in the spirit until he came to earth.

Heavenly Father is the Father of all of us so that makes us sisters and brothers.

Why was that so hard for you at least do me the courtesy since you brought it up to explain why you had difficulty in connecting the dots!

I hope you do all of your own studying and not listen to others spoon feed you.

When we do our own study the spirit of the Lord talks to us and gives us insight to search his scriptures!

I mean no disrespect but so many will drop their, what they think is a little bomb and run away!

No I did not miss it I know CC she loves to do Shock and Aw many love to give me meat before milk and accuse one of lying for Jesus!

There are a few of the Shock and Aw kids around here but that is ok those who are not slothful will do their own home work!

That is easy to read sensational stuff and run with the crowd, it is hard work to search on ones own and trust in the Lord that he will not lead you astray.

You must put up or shut up meaning one must exercise faith and trust in the Lord not the arm of Flesh and the Blessings are great!

No one made you read it. That is one great thing about this site. No one makes you read every thread.

Cult or not, that is something some else can answer ... I am however very suspicious about any religious group that practices anything in secret. What is it they are hiding? Why are there “things” only revealed to a select few who follow certain rules.
In all the times I have read the Bible I do not remember Jesus doing anything in secret.

I try to stay away fron the religion threads specifically because I have such a strong negative reaction to Mormonism and I don’t wish to get into heated arguments. I have to watch my blood pressure.

That is why I am opposed to such indoctrination being allowed by one specific religious group on the News/Activism forum.

I’ve been quite adept at avoiding this issue, until now. Perhaps it is time for a FreeRepublic poll. Let’s see how many freepers will actually decline to vote for someone because of either their religious beliefs or Mormonism.

I think if you give freepers the option of saying they won’t vote for Romney, but are withholding their vote for political reasons, I think that almost all freepers would choose that option. It is more politically correct. Don’t give them that option. Let us see what freepers really think about a Mormon running for President.

I am not at this time voting for Mitt because of his political positions (decades of records).

Resty, bashing colorcountry is a favorite tactic of yours. You keep claiming EVERY source that is posted here that disputes your view is false and lying.

FReepers post time and again words from your own scriptures, and the apologists deny, deny and change the subject, call the posters names.

That may have worked before the internet, but it simply doesn't work any more. Then you fall back on the "burning in the bosom" personal testimony that you really EXPECT to convince others of the truth of mormonism.

You are welcome to your testimonies and I'm glad you find solace in them but they do NOT win the argument for you, nor does bashing.

If Ezra Taft Benson were alive today and running for President, I would have no hesitation about supporting him even though, as a Mormon, his views on the Trinity, the nature of Jesus Christ as existing eternally and being wholly God and wholly man, the reliability of the Bible and its completeness, salvation by faith alone through grace alone, and numerous other matters differed from mine. I differ from a Roman Catholic or an Eastern Orthodox on some theological issues, and from a Protestant from the Wesleyan, Holiness, and neo-orthodox strains on some theological issues as well. Electing someone to public office is not the same as choosing an elder or a deacon for your church. Morality is important, yet one can adhere to a Biblical standard of morality even if his version of Christianity differs from yours or if he is not a Christian. Should we reject the contributions of Jefferson, Franklin, and John Adams to our nation's foundation because none were orthodox Christians? They were fundamentally moral men with respect to their public careers.

That being said, Mitt Romney is not a conservative, based on his record as governor of Massachusetts, nor are the nominally Catholic Rudolph Giuliani or the nominally Episcopalian John McCain.
