Only after I go back in time and straighten it out.

Thanks for the advice! Do the locals generally speak English? I mean, if I talk in English, will they understand me? Just curious. Everyone says Germany is great.

Time machines achieve optimum mileage when powered by perpetual motion machines.

Most speak English. You really want to speak German. Think about the attitude in the United States when foreigners won’t try to learn English. When you are out in Germany just ask for help when you are struggling with the language. If they see you are making an honest effort they will warm up to you quickly.

Germany is great. Don’t stay on the bases. For some Airmen and Soldiers the big trip off base is when they go to the big BX/PX at Ramstein or Vogelweh. That’s really sad.

The tourist traps are alright. Everybody goes to Neuschwanstein (one of Ludwig’s castles). You’ll have more fun grabbing a detailed map and looking for castle ruins and obscure historical sites.

You’ll probably go to the Oktoberfest at least once. It’s become a huge commercial event. You’ll have a lot more fun at the little town/village fests. It’s a different world. Imagine a carnival where you go to a concession and get your beer or wine in real glasses. You pay a deposit on the glass that is returned when you bring back the glass. My wife has a collection from over several decades she got from her parents (my wife is German). The city of Darmstadt is famous for it's wine and sausage. They have an annual festival which you should attend. I recommend consuming insane amounts of both.

Just remember; many Soldiers before you have given bad impressions of what to expect from American Military. There’s more good Soldiers than bad but unfortunately the bad ones stand out the most. Be a good will ambassador and show them what an American Soldier really stands for.

Good luck and God bless you!

Yes, just imagine if that traveling snake oil salesman had not approached the mother of the evil incarnate, if William Jefferson Blythe Clinton had never been conceived.

Our world would be much better now than it is.

However, Prof Mallett is fussy about who gives him the money. “We want non-military sources. I don’t want to get to a certain point and get ‘top secret’ slapped over the project and have it taken away from us.”

Hate to break the news to him, but if he manages to pull it off, that’s gonna happen anyway. (I’d still like to know what happened to all of Tesla’s papers that were confiscated on orders of J. Edgar Hoover).

Heh, John Titor. I’m aware of just about everything possible on that hoax and Rick was one of the principles after pamela. It’s a Larry Haber production out of Celebration Florida. I’ll watch it, but it’s pure fantasy for many many different reasons.

“Personally I think teleportation would be much more practical.”

Absolutely. Teleportation would involve creating a bit map at the atomic level of the item/person to be teleported. Once you had the bit map, you could recreate that item/person anywhere you want after you destroy the original.

The current limitations on technology that need to be solved do not appear to be impossible given current theory.

It will take advances in computer speed, memory, power generation, ability to scan at the atomic level, and practical chemistry in combining basic elements to produce anything.

Nanobots? Imagine giving the blue print (bit map) to a bunch of nanobots who have access to quanities of all the elements. Then they build whatever you want.

Thanks, for the book recommendations. I do like science fiction.

The universe has no GPS. There is no absolute way of determining where something is except in relation to where other things are.

Theoretically, if you could travel in time, you would not leave Earth’s gravity well unless you supplied the energy to climb out of that gravity well. There is the whole conservation of momentum thing also, you should stay about where you started relative to the earth, unless traveling by tardis.

However I looked the guy up and it seems the story is totally legit, except his idea seems scientifically weak and sounds lie he at best was proposing making a particle stand still or go slightly backwards in time. The critique by other scientists included that IF any of his assumptions were correct, his device would need to be the size of the observable universe.
