Amazing, I had a cat save my first born son's life. My wife had gone to the store, I had just gotten home from college, and was shaving getting ready to go to work as a bartender (GI bill only went so far) when Sassy our female cat came in and began meowing insistently. I turned off the water and followed her as she ran back in to our bedroom, looking back over her shoulder to make sure I was following.
We had a large walk-in closet, and during bright daylight hours, we would roll my son's crib in and partially close the door to help him sleep.
It turned out he had wrapped himself up in his blankets and was suffocating. Had Sassy not come to get me, I wouldn't have the wonderful son I have today, ex-Navy Seal, and Physics major in college with a 3.8 GPA.
She died a few years back, but believe me, it wasn't from neglect.

Gee, would just excite me no end
living in this nursing home and this cat jumps onto my bed and cuddles (grim reaper in fur?).
Mayhap if the cat were tossed out, the death rate would drop (psychological effect and all).

This thing has been posted about a dozen times, I guess it's the dumb cat story that will not die!

Don’t let the old folks in the rest home read about this or they will die of fear when a cat jumps on their bed.

sorry, searched back to pages and saw nothing. mods please delete. The story about my son was true though.

I read the home is for Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s patients and the staff believe none of the patients who died ever knew the cat was there.

What would a cat story be without at least 9 threads, huh? I’m glad you posted. I missed the other 11:’)

They had a bit on this on the NBC Nightly News tonight. One might expect it would be a black cat but it was really a greyish colored cat. I geuss the cat just walks around and if the cat sees someone and they look like they’re doing OK he leaves and he goes to visit someone else to possibly visit someone who is not doing well physically.

Nine times to be exact.

That cat needs to be smuggled into the Senate. One could hope.

Yep, for the next sleep over. Somebody contact Harry Reid’s laundry and have them add catnip in the dry cycle :)
