He attended high school and college without being able to speak English? What, he reads minds?

If this guy’s right to a speedy trial had been truly violated, there *might* be something to this, but from what I’ve been hearing this guy is perfectly able to speak decent English. This thing has been a put up job since the beginning. He didn’t need an interpreter in the first place, and his own previous statements prove that.

I disagree with removing the Judge, the DA should be fired forthwith.

Richly deserved? I guess the 6th Amendment is meaningless? The guy has a right to a speedy trial, period.

I think both should be removed. In the mean time we need to take this dirtbag and his father and deport them back to the shi*hole they came from.

The defendant waived his right to a speedy trial becauase he wanted a psychic evaluation and other stall tactics performed. He wanted ample time to mount a defence and his lawyer gamed the system to have this thrown out.

He waived his right to a speedy trial and lied to the court about his language abilities. The day his case was dismissed there was a translator in the court and sworn in. But the richly deserved reference was for the judge.

"Richly deserved? I guess the 6th Amendment is meaningless? The guy has a right to a speedy trial, period." So, whose fault is it that he didn't have a speedy trial? Why did this thing take 3 years???!

I think the accused guy actually can speak english, and the DA is a fool if he couldn't have gotten the interpreter requirement thrown out.

If he waived his right to a speedy trial then there will be a transcript of that or a written waiver. If that is the case then the judge is wrong.
If no such waiver exists then it was the prosecution's job to get the case to trial. Any objections or stalling by the defense should have been immediately met with a demand that he waive his speedy trial rights before the delay was allowed. It's the government's job to push for the trial, not his.

He had no problem speaking English all through High School and he speaks English to his neighbors. This is a travesty and this judge should be removed from the bench ASAP. This is really outrageous.

Tell us all about it when he rapes your 7 year old child. This guy is off scot free and back on the streets. Somebody’s child somewhere will suffer at the monster’s hands again.
