I'd hit it....
Big whoop, anyone stupid enough to pay $5+ for coffee in the first place might as well get another dime of two out of them since economics clearly is not something they have a great grasp of.
OMG! I've lived in IN my whole life and have NEVER seen hay cost that much!
I like the taste of Starbucks coffee. I buy it at the local supermarket for $8/bag ground. Brew it each morning for my wife and I. One bag lasts us 3 weeks. So $8 divided by 21 days = $0.38/day. Now if we each went in to “experience” the Starbucks experience at the coffee shop each day it would be $2.30 (@ $1.65 each for regular...sorry, how dumb of me...a grande...cup of coffee) x 21 days = $48.
Simple answer >>>> brew it at home
Up here the big alternative is Tullys. I like their hot chocolate, but for anything coffee, I prefer Starbucks... Oh well!!! And yes, I could subsist off of Starbucks alone... Maybe throw in one of those little oat-fudge bars for a little carbs here and there... ;) Too bad it’s so expensive!!
Easy to detect in advance because I only drink coffee occasionally. I know the night before that tomorrow is a crucial day for clear thought or need for a “lift”. Not 100% accurate but that’s how I usually do it
To the best of my knowledge the traditional Arab way is to simmer coffee, pour into cups and drink it with the grounds left at the bottom of the cup
My question to you is, is there really that much difference between the $8 stuff and the great taste of Maxwell House dark or Chock full of Nuts good stuff for $2.50? I really don’t know.
Well yes, I suppose they can sin tax anything they wish. Back to the Seattle latte’ tax attempt. Understand I am going from memory. I hate using google until after I test my middle-aged memory. The tax revenue from the latte’ tax was going to be used for pre-school education programs. What got the latte’ drinkers up in arms was that, not really the tax itself. A large number of free spending yuppies in King County are single and/or childless. I am sure if the money was going to be earmarked for some other half-assed lib program they may not have objected.
LOL the sad thing is I don’t care. I love Starbucks.
There are no $5 cups of coffee. A 20 ounce cup of coffee is $2.00 +/- $.05.
Yes
Thanks svcw. Yes their coffee is good. But as someone mentioned earlier on this thread it is a great place to meet people. Being an elderly guy I’ll just say, it works. I have a date tonight with some real estate chick.
Good for you. If you want to impress this lady ask for a French Press of Rift Valley Blend and two small ceramic cups. Its about $3.50 for the pot (about four cups) but makes a very elegant presentation. Pare it with the small package of shortbread cookies they have at the counter. You can ask for a plate to put the cookies on.
Have fun.
