Pissant knows darn well that Hunter has a PAC which will go to support his son’s congressional race.

In fact, why else would he be campaigning for his son’s local San Diego race at a presidential candidate’s dinner in New Hampshire?

I’m not convinced this wasn’t the plan all along.
Use the campaign pulpit to advance conservatism (and he’s doing a great job),
then when he drops out, his donation dollars can go to Duncan Duane.

Hunter’s wife spoke at that dinner and didn’t say one word about her husband’s presidential bid.
She spoke ONLY of Duncan Duane’s campaign.

Isn’t that a fascinating observation you’ve made? It would explain Hunter’s rather lame campaign to date. Numerous FReepers have said beginning weeks back that it appears that Hunter doesn’t seem to be interested in winning—and now we have an excellent potential explanation for that. Excellent work on your part.

I agree, starting with SDchick12, who works in Hunter's campaign office and just signed onto FR a few days ago to freepmail me that Hunter's campaign funds are NOT transferrable to his son's campaign.

SDchick12, I hope you're able to review this thread, and post #201, to realize my questions were justified.

I’m not going to trash Hunter. Of course his son is running for his seat, it is very public, and of course Duncan will support his son, that is what a father does.

I don’t believe, however, that Duncan’s run for President is, in any way, a back door attempt to help his son.

Hunter is the victim of the pop culture mentality of our country. I doubt that Abraham Lincoln or Teddy Roosevelt could be elected in this day and age.

From the month the PAC started (April 2003), Daniel Thompson Associates began drawing a monthly retainer of $4,000 for "management consultant services."

Good lawyers are paid on retainer for doing nothing all the time.. it is a normal business service. I have a lawyer on retainer, albeit, I don't even pay a twentieth of what Daniel is paid (but I don't need a lawyer for the purposes he is in business for.) I've used my lawyer twice, both to draft and review contracts.

You don’t know exactly what services he provided. We only have news articles claiming to know.. kind of like the news articles that proved Fred lobbied for a pro-abortion firm and we found out when the bill records were released, he just sat in on a few meetings and conference calls for his firm- no lobbying.

This is no trash of Hunter. As has been said, Hunter is putting out the conservative message. His conservative son in office is all to the good.

I think neither the terms "trashing" nor "accusation" are accurate. This is politics, after all. And it is permissible to use hard facts and solid evidence, all available from this website, to offer an explanation of a puzzling situation. No one has suggested any illegality or made any unfounded statements. The posts and links are there. Facts are presented and used logically to arrive at a reasonable conclusion. If the conclusion is uncomfortable for some, then so it must be.
