NO profanity, NO personal attacks, NO racism or violence in posts<<<<<<

Seems the Councilman didn’t read this part. Without knowing all the facts, how can anyone make a judgment here? If you were on a jury trying the case of Arsenio Winston, do you really think you could be fair and impartial given this man’s publicized letter? Regardless of what you think of drug dealers or drug users (make sure there aren’t any in your family before you answer) we have the rule of law in this land. The right of any accuser to face his accusers in a court of law and to prove or disprove the charges against him or her. When a councilman takes it upon himself to tell an American citizen where he or she can or cannot go, and makes personal threats or slanders against them, regardless of their personal feelings, it’s crossing the line. You want drugs out of your community you do it the right way. Legally. You prove this man is guilty. Then you go after his suppliers. You don’t just attack him. You find out and attack who’s supplying the youth with the drugs in the first place. But more times than not, people don’t do that because it will lead to the top. It’s easy to attack someone who has less chance of fighting back. The power position here is clear: the councilman. You want Arsenio off the street? Instead of slandering him GIVE HIM A JOB! Nobody thought of that because they were too busy agreeing with borderline racist hatespeech.

Sorry, I grew up in that neighborhood. My parents still live there, elderly folks trapped in a neighborhood the fell down around them. You can go and see the thugs and crack dealers on the corners. Thugs have scared the old folks into their homes and the young folks to the suburbs. The thugs don’t want jobs! The thugs want to terrorize people into giving them the living they think the world OWES them!
