Are you familiar with fine crystal and laboratory-medical test tubes made from leaded glass? Yes, there is lead in those items! The fact that a given item has a constituent of lead in it's makeup has little bearing on it's hazard potential to humans.

Any machinist will be familiar with leaded or "free machining" steel. Granted, it's no something you'd want to eat, but if it's that big a deal why not go ballistic over the prospect of having your kids handle fishing sinkers or bullets?
