I voted for Jorge in 1994, 1998, 2000, and 2004. But after hte past 12 months I will never vote for any member of the big spending Rockefeller Republican family again. With country club reps like Shrub who needs democrats.

She’s hiding now. Pity she hasn’t the courage to admit her idol has flaws.

The issue with me in this case is not whether his policies have changed, but that he hasn’t delivered, nor even tried, on key goals for his second term, namely Social Security overhaul and further tax reform.

He didn't even try on Social Security? As I recall, he used up all his political capital in 2005, trying to overhaul social security with market based reforms. When the Democrats predictably demagogged the issue, the Republicans in Congress panicked and abandoned him. That was our best chance at bringing an out of control entitlement program under control. Social Security is a train wreck that I fear no president will now have the political will to stop.

I'm as upset as the rest of us about amnesty, but let's not forget that President Bush has been solid on the War and cutting taxes. Did he abandon us on immigration? Yes, he did. But let's not forget that the Republicans in Congress abandoned him first on many other issues (after he helped get them elected). Remember all those conservative judges he appointed, and the Republicans who wouldn't use the nuclear option to get them confirmed?

Remember how ticked off we were at Bush, Sr. for breaking his no new taxes pledge, even though he won the First Gulf War and managed the collapse of the Soviet Union? Remember how we regretted (some of us) voting for Perot and allowing Slick Willie to win. In 2009, with President Hillary in office, will we pine for the days of the Bush Administration?

The liberals here on phony Republic are those of you reciting DUmmie lines, bashing Bush on EVERY SINGLE thread and reciting every liberal drive by line.

I stand alone sometimes supporting President Bush on a website that’s supposedly full of conservatives. And I stand alone, PROUDLY supporting our President and Commander in Chief.

The rest of you are part of the conservative crack up.

Bush Derangement Syndrome, FReeper style. That describes most of you.

I’m VERY ashamed that our men and women in uniform are fighting for your right to constantly bash their Commander in Chief.

Show me what he cares about.

Most sadly:

"Dad. Then, you. Me. Hillary. Jeb. Chelsea.
Then we merge with Mexico and Canada, and end America as it exists today."

You’re going back to 1995?

But, I bet you voted for Bush in 2000, right? Are you one of the DUmmie FReepers here who claim that you voted for Bush because Gore was worse? Or, are you claiming that you supported him in 2000 even though you knew of a policy of his from 1995 that you didn’t like? And, oh yes, the great immigration. So wonderful that all of you liberal DUmmie FReepers can solve illegal immigration so easily. Yet, you voted for the man whose views haven’t changed in 7 years. Only a good liberal will claim to vote for someone because the other was worse. Kinda reminds me of “anybody but Bush” cited by all of you liberals back in 2004.

Uh huh.

What phonies............

From what I remember, he spent months touring the country promoting his social security plan. It was the Republicans in Congress who backed down to the media and the democrats.

Let's not talk about the war on terror, that, after all, is an executive action to defend the country. Let's talk about the kind of country that will be defended. Will it be the United States of America, or the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America?

Even the worse despots in the history of mankind defended their country. We should be a little bit more particular.

Yep, I’m going back to 1995, and clear up to 2004.

Sorry you don’t like that I’m TRACKING EVERYTHING he promised over a 10-year period....CONSISTENT promises which he subsequently broke.

What’s the matter, you don’t like that his own words and promises broken are being thrown back in your face?

Let's talk about immigration. I didn't leave the president, the president left me. If he will build the fence and enforce the laws of this country, then I will walk through fire for him. Let him make a commitment to rejoin Conservatives on this issue. Then we can talk about Iraq.

I disagree with the President on illegal immigration. That said our CIC is leading a WOT in Iraq and our soldiers are making the ultimate sacrafice -- now.

It's appropritate to talk about illegal immigration and the WOT in Iraq -- now.

Your post is pathetic.

You’re the phony.

What color is your Bush alter? Do you worship at it 24/7, or just 10 times a day?

is he stupid

I'll go with stupid. Long before his support for amnesty, I thought his lack of intelligence was the primary factor behind our difficulties of winning in Iraq. Any student knows that in the entire history of warfare, not one has ever been won via (a) a 'hearts & minds' campaign, and (b) tolerance of internal dissent.

Wars have only been won by killing & terrorizing external AND internal enemies until they give in. If we couldn't have justified attacking the Iraqi populace supporting the insurgency, then we shouldn't have attacked at all. Better to take the hit of a first strike, then go in with all we've got. (Shades of Coulter's suggestion for draft & occupation.)

Bush's attempt at taking this new & novel approach to war is no different from socialists explaining why communism has never worked before because "they hadn't tried it".
