The leader of an al-Qaida umbrella group in Iraq threatened to wage war against Iran unless it stops supporting Shiites in Iraq within two months, according to an audiotape released Sunday... said his Sunni fighters have been preparing for four years to wage a battle against Shiite-dominated Iran. "...stop direct and indirect intervention ... otherwise a severe war is waiting for you," ...al-Baghdadi also gave Sunnis and Arab countries doing business in Iran or with Iranians a two-month deadline to cease their ties... Al-Baghdadi said his group was responsible for two suicide truck bomb attacks in May in Iraq's northern Kurdish region. He said the attacks in Irbil and Makhmur showed the "Islamic jihad," or holy war, was progressing in the Kurdish areas.
Interesting problem for the Turks, eh? Iran is of course having a good laugh (at the moment). Thanks E.

Well, sounds like Al-Baghdadi has already gotten the 'easy' part done...
...Guess we'll just have to wait to see how he does with the 'hard' part.

One has to wonder if this is just a move by this towel-headed fairy to get the Shiites who don’t support Iran’s mullahcracy to switch sides. Oops, I mean, switch sides *again*. :’)

I think al-Baghdadi will be dancing at the smart bomb disco soon — discos this way, discos that way...

We shall see what develops. Most probably the major AQIR networks are so badly bruised at this point, some jerk came up with the brilliant idea that a new objective must be generated in order to hold together all the fleeing goon squads.

This is nothing but a ploy by Al-Qaeda! They are losing in Iraq against the Coalition, and now hope to divert them by pretending to go now full force against Iran. They hope we draw back salivating on the thought of an Al-Qaeda vs. Iran war, while in fact we'd let Al-Q off the hook.

Thanks for the ping.

Interesting things happening. Look at how many “war/conflict fronts” Iran is being drawn into:

Shia rift in Iraq - Sadr (Iran) against Maliki (USA/Iraq). Iran involved.

Shia rift inside Iran as gasoline rationing takes hold (Ahmadi-Nutjob against old guard clerics like Rafsanjani etc.). Some internal media working to have Nutjob removed from office.

Iraqi Sunnis warn Iran to “get out” of Iraq within two months or else.

Syria recalls all Syrian citizens back inside the country. Iran and Syria closely allied so Iran involved in war preparations.

Syria specially warns them to leave Lebanon within the week. Iran and Hezbollah closely allied so involved.

Syria, Israel, Hamas, Fatah conflict about to erupt. Iran closely allied to HAMAS so involved.

Two or three US carrier groups on Iran’s doorstep (Persian Gulf).Distracting Iran from other activity.

UN Sanctions likely to cut off gasoline exports to Iran and oil imports from Iran. Crashing Iran’s economy.

Fed up Iranian populace on the brink of huge blow up with gasoline the trigger but sky-rocketing prices of basics, including bread, bringing matters to a boil.

Looks like a “let’s roll” situation but not of Iran’s choosing.

I told people that we would be using Iraqi troops against Iran as our ground forces, too!

The USA in the air, the Iraqis on the ground!

Maybe, but the US is not in any position to do more than limited strikes with Iran. Pres. Bush knows this, and knows that if he tried to get any authorization from Congress it wouldn’t pass.

We (the US) won’t do anything. The time has passed for that. But that doesn’t mean that other parties are going to sit by and wait.

That’s propaganda.

Iran and Al-Qaeda are working together.

Not surprisingly, these “call” of Al-Qaeda against Iran appears a few days after the US army had strong critics of Iran in its role to support Al-Qaeda.

Remember also Lieberman’s remarks. Iranian leaders are afraid of the war that is coming in a builing near them !!!!

Evil fighting evil.

I listened to the terrorist leader speech in Arabic as broadcast on one of the terrorist websites. I think this speech was the "great news" that many terrorist websites were talking about last week.
