Director Bill Proenza replaced Max Mayfield in January. On Thursday, 23 employees - about half his staff - urged the government to removed him immediately.

I’ll trust half the staff/?/23 ~~~At their word,,,
that’s 23 to one...;0)

Thank you!
I was thinking along those lines.
I respect the educated opinions of the career staff.
He’s reminding me of a perfumed prince. ;o)
I have one more question, if you don’t mind.
WHY were there predictions of many monster storms last year?
That prediction didn’t bear any fruit.

There is a Mr. William, and a Mr. Xavier, PROENZA on your list.
Two different people?
It would be more understandable if the latter was “Guillermo”. ;o)
“XAVIER W”
Xavier William?
WHY the name change, if that happened?
Oh...let me take a guess...

I'm guessing Kerry was ahead in the polls.(That was before he didn't get "swiftboated," right?)

Proenza has publicly criticized the government for failing to provide enough funding, particularly to replace an aging weather satellite. But staff members say he is misrepresenting the satellite problem, and they worry the consequences of his campaign to replace it could hurt their forecasting abilities. That reminds me of how Jimmy Carter replaced human intelligence with satellites with disastrous results.

That's an interesting list of contributions, Southack. It looks like he butters both sides of his bread.
Thank you for posting it.

If I lived in FL I might want the predictions, even if they do not come to pass. But at some point, I suppose you will reach a “boy who cried wolf” point.

That's a good point.
I've lived in several cities on the Gulf coast of FL, and now live in the Northwest.
Hurricanes don't bother me nearly as much as earthquakes! ;o)
