I normally do, but I’m signed out.

But are you logged in?

I, too, noticed it this AM. They didn’t do Memorial Day, but they at least got this one right.

The bald eagle is not supposed to carry an olive branch.

That's the top of the Stanford Pine Tree.

It doesn’t change when I log in or out or change the theme in my account or go to google.com or anywhere else on the site. It looks like I’m out of the loop!

Doesn’t do the trick for me, for whatever reason.

Stop using Google, use Scroogle Scraper and stop giving Google all of your personal information!

It’s not a pine tree, it’s a Sequoia Sempervirens.

From the point of view of the observer (us) the eagle is flying left.

The Eagle is shown flying/walking to the left on the:

"Flying Eagle" 1¢ coin 1856-1858
"Walking Liberty" 50¢ coin 1916-1947
"Susan B Anthony" $1 coin 1979-1981 and 1999
"Sacagawea" $1 coin 2000-2006, and arguably the most beautiful coin ever produced:
"Saint-Gaudens" $20 gold piece" 1907-1932

Not good.

Congratulations! you win the medal for deep divination to find something to complain about.

The eagle approximates the second G in "Google." If the eagle were flying to the reader's right, it would spell "Gooqle."

The symbolism is important there — the lunar missions were peaceful. Having the eagle carry arrows to the moon would have been inappropriate.
