Why all of this senseless talk of a pardon?! A respite of the sentence while the appeal is ongoing would be perfect!!!
If Libby wins on appeal, he clears his name. If he does not, then Bush could pardon him.
Yeah, that's a real considered response. Give me a f**king break - Scooter Libby's liberty is *NOT* a small issue: it's symptomatic of an out-of-control 'Rat-sympathizing prosecutor who delivered a Bush Administration scalp to his 'Rat patron Chuckie Schumer.
But we couldn't possibly expect a knee-jerk 'Law Enforcement Can Do No Wrong/Screw the Constitution/Drug Warrior' type like you to understand that, now could we?
Oh, and by the way, don't complain the next time a cop hands you a speeding ticket that you don't believe you deserve. You broke the law, didn't you?
"introduced the Washington insider to readers and viewers with profile after profile detailing Libby's resume, from his college days right through his time in the White House. It was telling how many of those features forgot to mention the fact that during the 1990's Libby pocketed $2 million in fees working as the American attorney and chief advocate for Marc Rich, the disgraced billionaire fugitive. It was Libby who helped construct the sales pitch used to try to secure Rich a presidential pardon. The pardon was finally granted by President Clinton during his last days in office, which ignited one last free-wheeling Clinton press scandal. (Libby called Rich to congratulate him when he heard the good news of the pardon.) Prior to the indictments, it was the only real stain on Libby's impressive resume and cast some doubt of Libby's lofty, Man for All Seasons persona pushed in the press.
while I agree with you in that those who break the law should pay the price, however I do not believe Scooter broke one single law
So, what are you saying? That it’s karma?
He broke the law. He should go to jail.End the discussion and move on.
i jaywalked last night, i should get a ticket.

email addy for the WH. Of course, you can also call or use snail mail.
He DID NOT represent Rich in his Pardon—he represented him years before when he beat Fitz. Quinn, a Dem lawyer who’d worked for then VP Gore represented Rich in the pardon proceedings.
Another reason to elect Fred. He said he’d pardon Libby right away.
The simple thing for Bush to do would be to commute the sentence to just the $250k fine. This would keep Scooter out of jail (always a good thing) but would allow the appeal to go forward. This is what Fitz and the judge do not want to happen. The appeal cannot end up making them look good. Regardless of what happens they will finally be on trial by Scooter’s team.
> If mis-remembering details of who said what to whom and when they said it is perjury, then the jails won’t have space to for all the former Clinton administration officials who need to join him. Including the Junior Senator from New York. <
You say that like its a BAD thing. :-)
I really do not care about how you interpret the facts, accusations or evidence.
He was CONVICTED by a US court.
He has his appeals process...other than that....it is not my concern.
Nothing but chasing rabbits...just like the Chiavo case.
Ahh, Bulls#!+! And you know it.
When is the Mr. Hillary Clinton prosecution going to begin?
We were all promised we could try him after he left office; well, I’m still waiting........
If the President doesn’t pardon Libby now, he will lose all respect. Period.
Poppycock. He was the only one they could nail for anything.
Chiavo?
