Were the bullets & load the same as used by Oswald ?
Some bolt actions are very fast indeed, I don't know about this one.

But when the Italian team test-fired the identical model of gun, they were unable to load and fire three shots in less than 19 seconds Perhaps if they let the gun load from the magazine instead of inserting each round into the chamber by hand they might get that time down a bit.

I’m not totally in the lone gunman camp but, even so, this report doesn’t pass the smell test. Eight seconds. 19 seconds. Quite a big difference there. Maybe the Italian stopwatches run too fast.

Are they aware that some bolt actions can actually hold a clip?

This is probably not PC at all, but....I don’t care now.
It happened when I was in the 6th grade.
It’s over.

fired three shots with a Carcano M91/38 bolt-action rifle in 8.3 seconds. The clock starts with the first shot. After the first shot, he had 8.3 seconds to fire two shots.

That’s what’s been said all along. Oswald didn’t murder Kennedy.

At that distance, the impact of the final head shot would have been instantly seen in Oswald’s scope.
Then why would he have to eject the third shell if he did not need a fourth shot and every bone in his body said to beat feet.

The Italian tests suggest that a bullet fired from that distance would have emerged intact from Kennedy's head, implying that the third shot must instead have come from a more distant location. This doesn't make sense to me. A closer shot would have a higher velocity (more energy), hence more likely to be damaged when it stuck tissue. Am I mission something?

This article is all nonsense. Not only can any Marine Corps Sniper beat the shots and times, he can do it easily and repeatedly.
All the other stuff about bullet deformation, etc. is wrong and misleading. Don't take anything from this article as being serious.
As far as the JFK assassination goes, all three shots came from Oswalds rifle. There were no other shots fired.

Also, don’t forget that Oswald was a southpaw. He could have very quickly worked the right-handed bolt while firing with his left.

I was a conspiracy believer until I read Mark Fuhrman’s book. Some of the things I learned: Oswald practiced a LOT with his rifle and dry fired (fired without ammunition) a lot, too. He was an excellent shot in the Marines. Mark’s theory is that the first shot was fired through an opening in the tree, so it came earlier than originally believed. That shot hit JFK in the upper back, was deflected in his body and hit the chrome trim at the top of the windshield. The damage done by the magic bullet” was actually inflicted by two bullets, not one.
Some of the conspiracies got pretty far out, like they snuck his body out the other side of the plane, took him to another military hospital where they removed his brain, removed the fragments and put it back in. Then they snuck him into the hospital where the “official” autopsy was done.
If the Italian army can’t get the shots off with a bolt action rifle in the allocated time, they need to find a new line of work!!!!

Strange - caught a few minutes of a special on the Kennedy assassination on the History Channel (during a commercial break in “Das Boot” on AMC) - showed marksman having no trouble getting off three shots in eight seconds while taking time to aim with the same type of rifle used by Oswald - depends on what you’re trying to prove or disprove apparently.....

At this point, who cares?
Kennedy was a rotten President anyway.
This will never go away - like John Wilkes Booth and whether or not the guy killed was REALLY him, or whether or not his diary had secret information in it that the War Department removed.

Lee Harvey Oswald could not have acted alone in assassinating President John F Kennedy, according to a new study by Italian weapons experts of the type of rifle Oswald used in the shootings. This was demonstrated in the 1970's. There is no way an expert using the gun Oswald did could get that many shot off and accurately.
But who ever believed the nonsense story anyhow.
