When I was stationed in Korea back in the late 70’s and early 80’s, we all worked together but partied separately. There were: rock and roll, ‘biker’, disco, country & western, Puerto Rican, black and Mexican-themed bars/clubs off post. Soldiers tended to gravitate towards clubs that played “their” music and catered to their group. Even the Korean hostesses & bar girls were different, depending on what kind of club you went into. In the black & Hispanic bars, the women tended to be darker-skinned Koreans that had usually permed their hair like an Afro (remember the time period). Tailor shops in the “ville” served the different ethnic groups. One black soldier in my Quonset hut had three wall lockers filled to the brim with stylish suits and jumpsuits that I’d never think to buy. He was going home to a different reality than I was after his tour was over.

"I watch Brit Humes show on Fox, and enjoy his smackdowns of Juan Williams lib looneyness." Someone jokingly said that the DNC feeds Williams its daily talking points, and when Juan Williams brings it up and Brit Hume doesn't smack him down, they run with it.
Thats priceless.

How to they figure saying schools can’t discriminate on the basis of race overturns a decision saying schools can’t discriminate on the basis of race?

This is actually an excellent, well-reasoned column (up until the final paragraphs where Juan begs for more money for the teachers unions).Could you pull out a quote that undergirds your assertion. I've read the last paragraph, and I just don't see "show me the money." I see "the challenge for brave leaders now is to deliver on the promise of a good education for every child." His quote, "The federal No Child Left Behind plan has many critics, but theres no denying that it is an effective tool for forcing teachers unions and school administrators to take responsibility for educating poor and minority students" would seem to undermine the assertion that it's all about money.

"The winning argument is that better schools are needed for all children.... the challenge for brave leaders now is to deliver on the promise of a good education for every child."The above is liberalspeak for "dump more money down the government school toilet".
Hope this helps.
