I’m from Kilgore originally.

I vowed last summer to never again complain when it rains, and I keep my promises.

You and me both.

I'm actually enjoying the evening rains, at least when the lightning isn't so bad. Kinda refreshing, taking the dog for a walk in the rain.

I was in Houston in the 70s/80s. I think it was around 76/77, we had a string of rain so bad that people were actually getting nasty about it. I recall a stretch of about 3+ months were we had something like 6 minutes of sunshine. I was fairly young, but I recall hearing about comparisons being made to the suicide rate in Sweden during winter in places far north that basically don't get sunshine during winter.

Overall, it hasn't been so bad here, as the neighborhood I recently moved to seems to have pretty decent drainage.  It's nothing like it was in Houston when I was younger and we'd break out the canoes for cruising up adn down the street!

Even after football games we never seem to burn things and turn over cars. I don’t know what is wrong with us.

We are Texan! We have been there before!

All I have to say ... thank God for the rain. Lake Lewisville is full again ... and I'm seeing plenty of temporary lakes forming up.

Fortunately I'm about 20 feet above the waterline. If we flood, God's just making sure that Texas becomes an ocean again.
