Now the chickens are coming home and there are no simple answers; and everybody is mad at Bush.

UYeah there are. Build the fence, enforce the borders, enforce the laws, stiffen penalties.

Yeah, he’ll be our new dictator!

Wake up! The POTUS is only has power in foreign policy and SC apptmts. Who is Ron Paul going to nominate to the SC? How will he carry Congress in any meaningful way?

Ron Paul will never be elected. He may keep you from voting Republican, which just increases democrat influence and moves the Republicans further to the left.

But keep marginalizing yourself. Then you can tell all your friends how much better things would be if they weren’t the way the are and how you know better and would never think of being a politician.

Potato, Patah-toe.

I was speaking culturally about censorship, not in a merely book sense.

You can’t possibly be serious. No rational thinking adult American who loves his country could possibly admire George Bush.

You cannot ZOT a thread just because you do not like what is being said. That is called censorship.

Obviously you have not been here long. It happens all the time just ask Travis McGee. He is highly respected around here and he got the boot for just being Travis McGee.

Your three year old probably speaks better than El Presidente.

Very classy.

Remember, as to personal attacks, Bush and his country-club cronies have been questioning the patriotism, intelligence, and racism of those opposed to his illegal immigration bill.

Seeing as how groups like the Klan and the Liberty Lobby and people like David Duke and Willis Carto are among the groups opposing the bill, the President can quite safely say that unpatriotic, stupid and racist people are indeed opposing the bill.

The masses of real Americans who he is turning his back on have a right, actually a duty, to respond.

If people have a problem with the President's legislative agenda they can discuss it like adults.

You don’t likey, don’t read.

FR is about discussing issues with intelligence, not brainless screeds and Larry Flynt rationalizations.

FR rolls with the times - regardless of political party - betrayal is betrayal.

Rather than rolling with the times, FR should take a perspective that rises above fads.

I thank God FR is not a sellout like so many Republicans.

One man's "sellout" is another man's pragmatism.

This problem was manageable 30 years ago but nobody wanted to deal with it. Now the chickens are coming home and there are no simple answers; and everybody is mad at Bush.

I agree that the problem goes back thirty years, at least.

Maybe people would not be so enraged at Bush if he had made an honest attempt to win them over in legitimate debate.

But what Bush did was collude with Kennedy, McCain, and Graham ("we're gonna tell the bigots to jes' shewtUP!") on a "cram down" strategy over the heads of the American people.

Gee...I wonder why people are so p.o.'d

There’s a difference between reality and pollyannaish visions of how law enforcement on the border works.

If "law enforcement" on the border actually means law-breaking in practice, then it is no wonder so many illegally cross the border.

If the guardians of the law don't respect it, why would foreign nationals?

Build the fence, enforce the borders, enforce the laws, stiffen penalties.

Build the fence, enforce the borders, enforce the laws, stiffen penalties.

Build the fence, enforce the borders, enforce the laws, stiffen penalties.

Seems pretty cut and dried. That is all we are asking for. We don’t need this stupid comprehensive 900 page bill with 300 pages of amendments.

Why all of the behind closed doors work on this bill?

I see it as a question of quantity, rather than quality.
We understand the correct protocol:
The public assumes the position, the president and his cronies line up and . . .

“Thank you sir. May I have another?”
BOHICA!

“Thank you sir. May I have another?”
BOHICA!

“Thank you sir . . .

My tail-bone’s getting sore. How many more hosings have the Skull & Bones boys got planned for us?

I think we all still love the guy..but his stubborn
streak, inherited from his Mother, is a key to his
troubles...his reelection affirms his thought, that he
is in charge, right or wrong, and that’s it. My big
regret that was touched on by a previous post...is the
disastrous effect it has put on the future of brother,
Jeb..who is undoubtedly the best of the trio...JK

Very amusing, but he needs to know more Spanglish...it's cojones, not cajones! Caramba! Let's get it correcto for once! Oh, and all must soon get with the Spanish lessons. We'll need them sooner rather than later, thanks to that idiot Bush, the RATs and RINOS in the Senate. I left my Sinator Bennett and strong message he cannot mistake for a kudo for his moronic vote in the Senate. GAG!

George Bush has earned every ounce of hatred that is coming his way. It would be churlish to deny him what he so justly deserves.

"(His consistency comes into question when you consider that he can’t even produce twins that look alike.)"

This is a pretty good article but the above statement was uncalled for.

::::: P L I N K ::::::

Forgive, sounds good
Forget, I’m not sure I could
They say time heals everything
But I’m still waiting

I’m through with doubt
There’s nothing left for me to figure out
I’ve paid a price
And I’ll keep paying

I’m not ready to make nice
I’m not ready to back down
I’m still mad as hell and
I don’t have time to go round and round and round
It’s too late to make it right
I probably wouldn’t if I could
‘Cause I’m mad as hell
Can’t bring myself to do what it is you think I should

I know you said
Can’t you just get over it
It turned my whole world around
And I kind of like it

I made my bed and I sleep like a baby
With no regrets and I don’t mind sayin’
It’s a sad sad story when a mother will teach her
Daughter that she ought to hate a perfect stranger
And how in the world can the words that I said
Send somebody so over the edge
That they’d write me a letter
Sayin’ that I better shut up and sing
Or my life will be over

I’m not ready to make nice
I’m not ready to back down
I’m still mad as hell and
I don’t have time to go round and round and round
It’s too late to make it right
I probably wouldn’t if I could
‘Cause I’m mad as hell
Can’t bring myself to do what it is you think I should

I’m not ready to make nice
I’m not ready to back down
I’m still mad as hell and

‘Cause I’m mad as hell
Can’t bring myself to do what it is you think I should

Forgive, sounds good

Some think that President George W. Bush has a fetish for illegal aliens. Whatever, he appears not quite normal, although he might just be too corrupt or evil. How else does one explain his obsession with passing a bill that will hugely damage the US?

Might be easier to say what he is not: President Bush is not compassionate (or he would never ram this bill down our throats), not moral, and not patriotic. A slimy quality, along with a sense of evil has attached to his demeanor.
