He is not lying
“Fred supports attrition”
you have a link for that?
Romney is the only one I heard talking about deportations by attrition.
I never called Fred a flip-flopper....hes always been an open-border type.
Fred's current position and the position he is running for President with, is "no amnesty" and "enforcement". You are being disingenuous.
So if your candidate doesn’t win the primary, you’ll just stay home for the general election?
Wamp is in the group of four or five closest advisors. All these “Bush people” are in the next tier, which is mostly the “Let’s get elected” group, not policy advisers.
That’s ridiculous. Fred is a term limit supporter.
Nice buzz words....sounds good until you listen to the rest of his BS.
What do you call it when you allow those breaking the law to stay? Amnesty. Fred doesn’t think we should deport those here as CURRENT LAW reads. He doesn’t want to build a fence or hold employers accountable, so he doesn’t support enforcement either.
Giuliani included?
Common sense.
Duh. They’re both Republicans. Any two Republicans would have a high correlation of similar votes.
During the eight years that Thompson and McCain served together, they cast votes on 102 CQ-defined key votes and agreed on 83 of them - or 81.4 percent of the time. They disagreed 18.6% of the time, that’s pretty high considering that both are Republicans and both are considered relatively conservative. Just as an example from one year, among the instances in which Thompson and McCain differed were votes in 2002 to effectively extend a repeal of the estate tax beyond 2010, to authorize oil drilling in Alaskas Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, and to postpone tougher automobile fuel efficiency standards. Thompson voted aye and McCain voted no in all three cases.
Thompson also was the lone standout in several 99-1 votes, including mandatory seat belt laws and mandated federal DUI blood alcohol levels.
Thompson isn't pyschic. He had no way of knowing that his good intentions were going to backfire on him.
Hes for AMNESTY....same as Bush. Both say cant deport when its proven you can.

If Fred is truly for ENFORCEMENT, then he would support deportation since that IS the law.
Lying is twisting what the man said into something he didn’t, which is all you can do.

He didn’t use the word attrition, but that’s what this is.
Attrition-a wearing down or weakening of resistance, esp. as a result of continuous pressure or harassment: The enemy surrounded the town and conducted a war of attrition.

I think most people feel disillusioned after 1986 when we had this deal offered to them before, and now were insisting that, you know, we solve the security problem first, and then well talk about what to do with regard to other things - certainly no amnesty or nothing blanket like that.
If we can make it nearly impossible for an invader to get a job and give the border patrol the authority and resources to arrest illegals and send them back where they came from, more than half the battle will have been won.”
I won't vote for Rudy McRomney no matter how much verbal abuse the strategists throw at me. I am still listening to and researching Thompson.
Fred Thompson never said that he was against deportation.
Fred did say that 12 to 20 million illegals "is an impossible situation". So that's why Fred says, "enforcement, and enforcement at the border, has to be primary" and that's why Fred says, "certainly no amnesty".
Since when does enforcement, not include deportation?
You are a bold face liar.
Then I guess we don't need to worry about Hillary or Obama.
Not just Mary Matalin!
Thompson is part the the Bush group for sure!
Plus, he has cancer.
I will NEVER vote for Fred Thompson.
Make me your second.
