Caroline Flint, the health minister, admitted: "The NHS needs to work harder to reduce the demand for abortions by improving access to contraception."

No word on abstinence?

Last week MPs voted down the third proposal since October by pro-life backbenchers to increase restrictions. Next week the British Medical Association will debate recommendations to radically ease restrictions, approved by its medical ethics committee, which says women should be able to decide themselves to have abortions within the first 13 weeks - without the requirement of the consent of two doctors.

**************************************

Last month Scotland's most senior Roman Catholic, Cardinal Keith O'Brien launched a fierce attack on pro-abortion Catholic politicians saying the abortion rate in Scotland was equivalent to "two Dunblane massacres a day".

FR thread here:

Scotland Cardinal says abortion is worse than Dunblane (refers to 1996 massacre of 16 children)

Yes, they do breed, while the european eunuchs fail to reproduce. Birth control and abortion will be the end of western civilization.

Yes, if Britains abortion figures keep increasing at this rate we will have caught up with the US abortion rate in only about 20 years. . . . . .

Caroline Flint, the health minister, admitted: "The NHS needs to work harder to reduce the demand for abortions by improving access to contraception."

What's the deal, Ms. Flint? It just a blob of tissue, right?

It's not like it's human or something. /sar

Must be a budget thingy...

The figures also show that almost one third - 32 per cent - of women who had an abortion had already had at least one previous termination.

You could argue that once was a mistake, but this is sad. Criminally sad..

As Steyn points out, the conversion of Europe to Eurabia is all but complete in France and Germany. Some more time just needs to elapse at this point.

There may be hope in Britain, I think. Denmark and, obviously, Swizerland, will offer fierce resistance.

I don’t believe America will be “alone,” as does Steyn, but our circle of friends is certainly shrinking....

I recall that the teenage abortion rate in Britain (which is what the article is about) is higher than it is in the U.S., where it is about 22 per 1000).
