“Knowing that the consequences of all actions are inevitable why would I waste a moment concering myself with the fate of those idiots who blew them up?”

There are a lot of ways for the “consequence” of the action to be fulfilled. But, Buddhists, specifically, would NEVER act themselves even if the action was grave to them.

The Taliban blowing up a piece of Buddhist history to oblivion and Buddhists just smirking and saying it was a no big deal and let some magical force behind take care of itself are just trying to escape reality of the whole Natural damn Order.

Humans and human behavior are part of the natural order too, how sometimes they keep ignoring that.

You have to work(perhaps it was Buddhists DUTY to defend against the direct Taliban assult, who knows) and the Taliban was left unchecked not even asked to be brought to its knees... the evil was left unchecked for the sake of some miraculous solution to the whole damn problem.

Fortunately, the Americans(bastion of Judeo-Christian culture today) decided to do something about it, although only after it was being attacked by the guests of the Taliban.

“There was an article posted here on FR not too long ago about the guy who ordered their destruction. He’s worm food now.”

Only after 3,000 more people died on 9/11.

“...blowing up a chunk of rock...”

This is exactly the mentality I’m talking about among Buddhists that led to them being massacred and wiped out off South-Central Asia. There is not even a trace of them, save for some fossilized manuscripts that keep popping up once a blue moon.

Most of them probably wouldn't go to war because a statue was blown up.

The Taliban blowing up a piece of Buddhist history to oblivion and Buddhists just smirking and saying it was a no big deal and let some magical force behind take care of itself are just trying to escape reality of the whole Natural damn Order.

I don't know of any Buddhists smirking about it. Perhaps you can provide a link to some evidence of that. As for cause and effect it's not a magical force. What goes around comes around. What you sow so shall you reap. It works with or without belief in it.

Humans and human behavior are part of the natural order too, how sometimes they keep ignoring that.

Got an example? Better yet, since the followers of any religion can be shown to have done stupid things and things that don't accord with their own teachings, support that statement by citing the specific Buddhist doctrine that gives rise to what you claim.

You have to work(perhaps it was Buddhists DUTY to defend against the direct Taliban assult, who knows) and the Taliban was left unchecked not even asked to be brought to its knees... the evil was left unchecked for the sake of some miraculous solution to the whole damn problem.

Like I said there aren't any Buddhists in Afghanistan and haven't been since Islam swept through about 1,200 years ago. You can ignore that reality if you like but there weren't any Buddhists there to oppose the Taliban. Did you really expect Buddhists to come from around the world and go to war in Afghanistan because the statues were blown up? I always carry a .45 but if I caught somebody keying my car I wouldn't shoot them for it. If that's the mentality you have then go for it.

Fortunately, the Americans(bastion of Judeo-Christian culture today) decided to do something about it, although only after it was being attacked by the guests of the Taliban.

Not because of statues being blown up.

Only after 3,000 more people died on 9/11.

More people? Does that mean you think the statues were people?

This is exactly the mentality I’m talking about among Buddhists that led to them being massacred and wiped out off South-Central Asia. There is not even a trace of them, save for some fossilized manuscripts that keep popping up once a blue moon.

What would you expect from monastic communities? Did you think the majority Hindu culture would protect them from Islam? The Hindus themselves were nearly wiped out by Islam, they had their hands full. They only survived because they were an overwhelming majority. Buddhism doesn't have a large lay following and was always a minority in India. As for no trace, it survived quite well by moving into Tibet about 200 years before Islam came to India and is thriving today in most of SE Asia in other sects. There's more than a trace, it's the major religion in most SE Asian countries.
