Contaminated with elitist power mongering?

Sounds like Newt was before your time.. That’s ok. Fred Thompson was on the committees that investigated Clinton.

Clinton ran circles around those committees in a way that bush never never does.

I like a lot about Newt, personally.

I still think he’s somehow quite compromised. Not sure of all the details.

You are welcome to consider it a looney hunch, conjecture, rumor, if you wish.

I’m 60 years old, BTW, a life long GOP occasionally INdependent, always conservative

Newt was creamed by the press. He is compromised to the extent that reagan was compromised by his divorce when he ran for president. certainly he is as thorougly hated in some quarters as hillary is hated in others.

His work in congress led to the balanced budget which clinton claimed credit for. (even though clinton fought it tooth and nail.)

You’re six years older than me. I voted for bush twice but would rather not vote for a mainstream republican this time. Certainly not the top three currently romney guiliani mclame.

who do you think bloomberg would hurt the most if he got into the race?

Hard question.

Bloomburg would probably hurt Rudy, the most. Maybe Shrillery some. But he’s as control freaquish; big government power mongeringish etc. as Shrillery, in a lot of ways . . . no doubt a flaming globalist, too. Certainly as are Rudy and McChurian.

Duncan Hunter seems to be the purest Conservative.

Fred Thompson seems to play the role well and may be authentically so at his core. I hope so. I think he stands a much better chance of beating Shrillery than Duncan does because Fred can likely carry more of the moderates.

Fox News reported on a particularly tragic example of job displacement that took place in 2003: "Kevin Flanagan, a computer programmer with Bank of America, was fired from his job after being forced to train his replacement, an Indian worker who was taking over Flanagan's job as part of Bank of America's effort to replace its American workforce with foreign labor. Flanagan walked outside into his office parking lot and shot himself to death." (emphasis added) [1]

Bank of America. Not only are they giving illegal invaders credit cards, they replace Americans with foreign workers. If Flanagan was ready to go, he should have first made an appointment with the bank president.

The more I read about NAFTA, the more I wish Ross had been elected. He may be a nut, but he was right about NAFTA.

What was he right about?
