Seriously, if effort were made TOMORROW to go around fining everyone with an illegal in their employ, the government coffers would be so full Trent Lott could buy a better toupee.

He told us he was for this before he ran,

He ran on having a guest worker program, not on anything like this monster of a bill. Many conservatives believe a guest worker program is the correct thing to do. You have legal workers entering the US legally to fill guest worker slots. He did not run on this bill, so please stop the lies.

Watch who you are calling a liar bud. My POINT is he NEVER pretended to be a “conservative” on THIS ISSUE, AND THEREFORE this was ONE of the issues I could never support him on.

Mainstream media is obsolete.

It sure is. It's old information by the time they report it, and always incomplete....always biased/slanted. They don't report news...they report and make gossip. They've 'become' the news rather than tell news. Online, you can find out information in real time....and it's often more precise or accurate. A 64-inch screen eh? That's awesome!

“C’mon now, that was uncalled for Snugs has been a good and loyal FReeper?”

Well I see we have another person who doesn’t know how to mind their own business. I’m sure “snugs” is perfectly capable of defending himself/herself.

But my response was “called for” because “snugs” called me out with this comment:

“Another freeper trusting the MSM for what the majority thinks of your President the same MSM you say lies all the time about Republican and conservative views and politicians.
Yet when you want to use it to make your point you do - I call this duplicity but maybe it is really nativity on my part.”

claiming that I was “duplicitous”...
Well I don’t know about you and I reeeely don’t care but when people insult me by saying I am “duplicitous”; I will respond. And if this person just so happens to be criticizing me about American politics and the person criticizing is not even an American;
then the person you should be reprimanding is not me but the foreigner who doesn't even live here!

Class Dismissed.

Good Day.

You sound like you’ve got the makings of an 18th century slave master. Have you always reflexively harbored such a condescending attitude about people of any stripe who may actually enjoy a kind of work that you seem so prone to demean?

Bravo! I for one am SO sick of the condescending, holier than thou attitude of some around here who think because they read an economics textbook once or twice, they know so much better than everyone else. Witness the "I know it's hard for some to understand" comment.

Actually, I do understand. I understand that my own wages and the wages of all taxpaying Americans are depressed on both ends by this monstrosity. On the one hand, an illegal willing to work for less lowers pay and on the other end the massive "hidden" costs in healthcare, auto insurance rates, welfare, etc raise my taxes. Sounds like capitalism with a very large side order of socialism to me. But what do I know? I probably haven't built my own business from scratch and worked harder than anyone anywhere ever like the economics PhDs here on FR.

Gee, teach, I didn’t understand that these open forum threads were supposed to be only between certain posters, and that non-American FReepers couldn’t opine on US politics. So glad you educated me.
