I think my Dem coworkers may have been right for the first time ever. This guy does appear to be a stupid and dangerous boob. He is our Jimmy Carter. Jimmy was less competent but he never pushed anything this bad. Nor did he have so much of a tendency to stab his base in the eye.
Mr. Bush you are a sell out and a traitor to the people who voted for you.
(good bumpersticker stuff)
I really think he's motivated by his own half-baked religious notions, not based on scripture but his own sense of greatness. He seemed to think his mission in life was to force democracy on the world--- then he realized he's supposed save Mexicans from poverty.
The question is which one would you rather have as President? Both would just crap all over the base.
I agree 100%.
Meanwhile, you know who is really vulnerable and exploited?
1. The legal immigrants who pay many thousands of dollars, jump through endless hoops and wait decades to become citizens because they are following the law.
2. The law-abiding employers who are at a huge disadvantage because their law-breaking competitors are employing illegal immigrant slave labor.
3. The American citizens whom the president is subjecting to nothing less than blackmail by unConstitutionally refusing to enforce the laws unless and until he gets his little pet program passed. The Constitution does not give the president the power to pick and choose the laws the executive branch will enforce -- if our elected representatives in the legislature properly pass a bill and the president signs it into law, he is then bound to enforce it.
I've tried to avoid the hyperbole employed by leftists, even in the many cases where I've profoundly disagreed with Bush...but in this case Bush is literally attempting override our entire Constitutional Republic and declare himself an emperor. He may be too short-sighted to realize it, but that's the end result if the president is permitted to flagrantly ignore the law as passed by his co-equal branch of government, and agreed to by the executive branch.
I fear that the important people are behind this.

No question. They must be mad as hell at Bush, Teddy, and that crowd for trying to let criminal aliens skip in line. If immigration reform was up to me, i’d streamline the legal immigration process and work to ensure that anyone ever caught in the US illegally was permanently barred from being a legal resident.
There’s others that have been saying that too and there might be something to it. It’s really hard to figure out what’s going on since his actions don’t appear normal for a president who’s supposed to be representing everybody, not just one ethnic group.
If we treat them so badly here, why are they pouring into the US like Niagara? Why not stay home in Mexico?
What about your DUTY to "take care that the laws are faithfully executed" (Article II Section 3 U. S. Constitution) Mr. President?
This country is slowly committing suicide, and George’s finger is on the trigger.
Illegals are *illegal,* George!
Maybe those who sell drugs are “vulnerable and exploited?” Oh wait. How about rapists and murders? Vulnerable and exploited. Sure.
If I shoot a robber in my home, is he “vulnerable and exploited”?
Impeach this idiot!
Of course WE will be vulnerable and exploited TOO as his program will permit millions of illegal invaders to remain here. His “Rent-A-Slave” plan will create a permanent underclass of unassimilable aliens living in isolated enclaves - hostile and angry and a source of potential political unrest - while WE fund the social support network the leeches who want to “hire” them will not provide.
The President’s arrogance, duplicity and treachery on this subject, as well as that of his cohorts in Congress in the face of the clearly expressed will of the majority of Americans defies belief.
Jorge El Segundo - El Primero Rey de los Estados Unidos del Norte.
Are your monitors picking this thread up, Mr. President? I helped put you in office - TWICE. Considering the alternatives I had no choice, but that says a lot about our choice of candidates, doesn’t it?
This rings soooooo true to me. A huge problem with Bush, Rove, Martinez, McCain--the whole bunch of them supporting this travesty--is their grandiosity. They believe they can turn the majority of Hispanics into Republicans with their brilliant political moves and oratory.
Those of us not blinded by an overblown sense of our ability to change people see how delusional they truly are.
