One of the better breakdown of taxes by state including some others that are hidden in the wholesaler price and which added on a percentage sales tax is at:
The average gasoline consumption in the US is about 9.27 million barrels per day or 389 million gallons per day.

Thanks for posting this, thackney, it is much appreciated.
Thanks for confirming the approximate number I posted earlier.
Pretty much. There is a good bit of seasonal swing so depending on what time of year, the number is different. I averaged the last 12 entries listed in the monthly.
Thanks, Hack!
Sorry Buddy, not that much.
Although our gasoline imports are higher than normal, our peak the end of May topped out at 1.6 MMBPD, the last reporting at 1.5 MMBPD. The average is much less before this current run up trying to build up the stocks. Our previous average is closer to 1.15 MMBPD.

;^)
EIA is always an easy check.
;-)
And going by my memory I was surprised how high last years gasoline imports actually were. I would have guessed half the amount. And I’m looking at these numbers all the dang time.
