I think you're on to something here....

Yep--simple minds prefer to ignore history. See post #104.

I agree. What I would give for another Ronald Reagan. But he was one of a kind. There will never be another. He was Americas’ knight in shining armor.

As far as I am concerned, when the people at the top order our law enforcement officers to turn a blind eye and ignore the law, then the people at the top are traitors. Just who is ordering our law enforcent to ignore the letter of the law? “W”, that’s who. That alone should be enough for impeachment.

Don’t go telling me I hate the GOP, I’m a caucus captain. I expect the leaders of the party to also respect the rule of law. If they don’t, then THEY can leave the GOP, we have no room for RINO compromisers. If that causes a divide in the party, then at least I know what side I’m on.

BUSH was supposed to be a Conservative...

He never ran as a doctrinaire conservative--he ran as a "compassionate conservative".

Perhaps you would've have preferred the Gore or Kerry alternatives?

Disclaimer: My only law enforcement experience is a few years part time working for a police department - no gun involved.

But.. that was enough to teach me that all the laws can never be enforced to the letter - there is a never enough time or money.

So we can (correctly) complain about misplaced priorities and how they don’t listen to their constituencies etc...

But “to the letter” law enforcement is not a real option.

I’m sure you know I’m talking about the immigration laws. When my local law enforcement has been ordered by the feds’s tolet all the illegals go, that order had to come from somewhere.

Gotcha. That is serious.

I concentrated on the “letter of the law” part of your post instead of reading the whole post together. Sorry about that.

I’ll bet you think you’re funny too when in reality you’re just a jackass.

How do you not lose ground electing RINOs who’ll vote with Democrats the majority of the time?

And that's the thanks I get for making the complex understandable. Sigh!

BTW, you're the one who axed the question.

I’m not offended and I didn’t intend for you to apologize because you thought I was offended. I’m sick of people who apologize because someone whines about being offended.

My point was that MNJohnnie doesn’t need any encouragment to his over-the-top personal attacks.

I just called a poster a jackass because of the condescending comment he posted to me insinuating that I’m dumb as a stump. I can take it and I can dish it out if somebody attacks me first, but MNJohnnie is out of control (IMHO).

Americans who don't think President Bush made a mistake by going to war in Iraq are appalled by how clumsily the war has been conducted.

Most Americans don't know Jack $hi! what is going on in Iraq or how and what is being conducted in Iraq.

And a civil response instead of the condescending one you posted would have been appreciated. But I’ve seen enough of your post now to see that you aren’t capable of civility.

You come off as an uppity, know-it-all snob.

Bush is just the focus for the whole party. It is not just him. Where were the republicans when he needed support for the war and social security reform. They spent the money and he signed it.

The Ronald Reagan comparison is a non starter and you guys should stop using it. Reagan was so positive and looked for the good in things it gave him a small blind spot in this area. He was lied to about the effects of the bill and has spoken and written about it. Times were also different. The economy was good for JUST about everybody. Thousands of families of legal Americans have had their lifestyle eroded by W and his army of illegals. The effect of 30-40 million is WAAAYYY different than the 3-5 million Ronnie gave amnesty to. Learn history before you make invalid comparasion. Also Ronnie NEVER insulted his base. The 11th commandment was that you never spak bad about a fellow Republican.

Well thats certainly a refreshing change of pace. I have heard so much "I'm offended" from the PC crowd that if someone questions something I said, I assume I offended someone. But I was serious about the apology. It was over the top.

we are tearing the Party apart.

Bush is tearing the party apart. Once you accept that concept you can begin to propose solutions. As long as you’re a true blue Bush supporter you can’t offer acceptable solutions.
